We pick up a MG ZB Magnette

We go to Michigan to pick up a cheap Magnette for Captain Oblivious. What was supposed to be a parts car for all the missing bits on the one he already has turns out to be a better car with lots less rust in it, as well as all the hard to find parts that he was missing. We also have a nice surprise once we took a closer look at the engine

I inherited by fathers 1958 MG Magnette ZB. they are beautiful old cars. Not the most powerful at all by American standards but the Magnette is becoming quite collectable. Mine is right hand drive. Greetings from South Africa. Good luck.

They definitely are not powerful. I like to say that they don’t really accelerate, they gather speed😁 they are neat cars, and rare anywhere in the world nowadays.. take care of yours and keep it going as best you can👍🏻

@@mgbgtguy..thank you and thankfully many parts are still availlable in the UK which is great. Yes they "gather speed" lol. My folks did many miles in her and attended many rallys and shows.She stood for ten years and the brake wheel cylinders were toast so new set all around now. Master and slave cylinders with s/s resleeve done. I'll do a short youtube movie about her sometime. Cheers.

For me, RestoMod... Flared wheel wells, better looking grill and a new power plant. Like those lowered Jag MK ll restos that are modernized.

Hope this doesn't go for a parts car. As one of the last pre-badge-engineered MG saloons it and its cousin the Wolseley 15/50 deserve saving

looks to be a complete (excepting original type engine/trans?) , but in dire need of bodywork, car. i vote to restore in black. can't get enough of those old english cars from the 40's 50's and 60's!!! :)

What happens with it is ultimately up to him as it’s his car, but I’m lobbying him to put it back on the road as a mostly correct car. He can still rat rod the other one if we come up with another nasty one to get the missing parts from

@@mgbgtguy BTW, i'll be driving my '53 TD to columbus from california in late sept and have a 123ignition distributor that i'll be carrying with me (uninstalled) and will be looking for someone to install it. sooooo...(assuming i make it there), do you...ah... know anyone?
