Good morning Patrick & Stuart, Hells bells!! That was a shopping spree. Every thing is so lovely. The settee is stunning, the prints - oh my, the cutlery will look great after some cleaning up. You have really bought lovely items, so suitable for "your" chateaux. I would love to see the upholstery done on that magnificent set you were sitting on. That was really a wow shopping spree. You are doing things the right way, now you are buying stuff to fit the chateaux, there is the wall space for the portraits, paintings, wall rugs etc., then the vast rooms to fill up with exquisite pieces of furniture. I am so happy for you that you are living your dream. Stuart takes things so non-chalant I just love the manner he always comments right with a raised eyebrow!! Not forgetting those gorgeous rugs. Indeed you are very blessed. Do enjoy be happy. Many blessings and kind regards as always. This was a great video, filled fun and adventure..... Much love, Elize.

What an awesome haul!! Great shopping Stuart and Patrick. How simply fabulous getting that suite from Chateau Beauregard and with such provenance to boot! I too can imagine people of a bygone era sitting on those chairs, never once thinking of them still be in use hundreds of years later. I also love the scenic drives and places you visit, a great addition to our ‘armchair theatre’ travel. Thanks so much.👏👌❤️🙏🏻

Absolutely love watching your vlogs! You work so hard on all that is going on at the chateau and you still joke and laugh about it, that’s how it’s done! I can relate to starting the day with a coffee and a pain relief, but don’t over do it too much Patrick!! You don’t want to be flat on your back one day.❤

Oh how marvelous! And what a story! Actually the latest issue of a Swedish monthly interiors mag features Ch Beauregard bc she's a Swede (and if memory serves me right he's English or perhaps American). They're extremely well off and the Chateau is chock full of very expensive modern art and all renovated and furnished at the top end (so I hope you didn't pay too much for that group!) Beautiful, definately my fave of your finds! Hot tip: if you want to make a killing on fantastic fabric for drapes and upholstery go to Catawiki and write "italian fabric", "damask" or "brocade" and hit search. There's always incredible amounts of Venetian damask in 100% silk or silk blends, fantastic brocades and linnens galore in the most beautiful jeweltones, classy neutrals, poetic blues, emerald greens and bright ochres, and bc there's more or less a constant flow you can really get volumes cheaply. ALSO there's ready made curtains from old Italian Piano Nobili and estates going even cheaper. It's really the type of fabric that you'd have to pay through your nose for if you go to the highstreet in any city. Alot of the bolts of fabric are old stock clearance, and some are also modern stock made in the old style befitting a Chateau and basically surplus from the industry sold cheaply. There's also fantastic modern designer fabrics to mix in with your style. I love layering patterns, and a good stripe or gingham check always works fabulously with florals, toile de jouy and more abstract damask medallions to add some definition, and there's also sheer fabrics like cheesecloth- thin linnens and monochrome taffetas that are fabulous if you really go for loads of width or length (and who doesn't love an extra half yards length of pooling taffeta on the floor?) and that gets superpricey at any regular fabric dealer. But you can literally get them in full bolts for great discounts. If you measure out the yardage you need and take the repeat of the auctioned fabric into your calculation, (and the direction on the seats etc) , you can easily compare prices with what's available at the french fabric dealers in Paris. You'll find alot of well known French brands are also on auction, French designer fabrics often have their manufacture in Italy so the factory sales are all there and insane! I was a little surprized at all those framed prints until you revealed nobody was bidding and you got them so cheap, I get it. What you really like you can find a place for, and the rest you can use the frames for photos and more interesting artwork. At the brocantes the frames would have cost alot more. That small settee is cute as it is! Put a generous ottoman in a complimentary fabric and contrasting piping infront of it, a tray and maybe an oversized lamp on a side table you have really chic and comfy moment that makes a whole section of a bedrom, larger salon or a whole snug with a fireplace. Also a good two seater for the foot-end of a bed! Love seeing the footage from the passing landscape and villages, if you ever need five added minutes of content, just add car footage, we love it! 😉 Congratulations on your haul boys! ❤️😍

Hello Patrick, hello Stewart! I am so excited for you both. What incredible pieces you added can you imagine the same piece that you are sitting with your bum is the same spot that Marie Antoinette and the king sat together on. No, probably not the king but for sure Marie Antoinette how exciting is that!? And to have it come from that château. Wow you guys will still must be pinching yourselves. Stewart, I hope your ankle is feeling better. And Patrick if you can cut out as much sugar as you can. Add more fish oil to your diet for inflammation and do some stretches in the morning after your coffee of course 😂😉 you don’t want to get hooked on those stupid painkillers. Try to cut out the caffeine too. I’m sure that’s asking the impossible.😂 all this will help with your information. I am constantly finding new things to deal with my inflammation and fibromyalgia. Oh where to start to tell you how much fun it was to watch this episode? I've bought a lot of things at auctions, and like you, sometimes when the bidding takes off and goes crazy high, and I think "what just happened?" I stopped the video in places so I could read the road signs so I can figure out where you've been. What a great furniture find with the Louis XVI settee and chairs. Furnishings with a story to tell--as these do--makes for an interesting and fascinating decor. Keep on attending auctions. Oh, and I enjoyed the drive up to the chateau through the back gate and the woodland.

I love you both. You have great taste and have so much fun in everything you do, even though some of what you do, kills your back or sprains your ankle. The furniture, artwork, accessories you purchased are beautiful and will be perfect scattered about your chateau. But the experiences you had acquiring these pieces have no doubt brought you so much joy. Both of your faces light up when you talk about it. And that’s key to a life well lived, doing the things you love and doing it with the person you love. Keep smiling and laughing!!! hugs xxx

Such a beautiful drive through the property of Chateau de Beauregard. I can already see your settee fully restored in all its glory. I would love a light blue silk pattern with gilded wood. Sorry just dreaming. Stuart please take care of your ankle and I’ll see you both next time.

The auction items are wonderful additions, especially those from the Chateau de Beauregard . The original fabric on the chair is spectacular and I hope you can find something like it when you go fabric shopping in Paris. You both deserve fun breaks, as you are constantly working. Pace yourselves, as Patrick mentioned pain medication, probably from overdoing it lifting heavy items. Everything will come together and you want to enjoy things in good health. BTW, I haven’t told Stuart that I like the intro footage prepared and of course the music. You guys are doing a great job !! Take care my friends, Ralph Rocchiccioli

So many auctions, so many rooms to fill!!! I love the red chairs and all the pictures. I especially found the one picture of the woman leaning against the wall mesmerizing.

This was such an enjoyable 'auction treasure retrieving adventure.' Nice haul indeed. You both have a gift for seeing the details in antique treasures both large and small. The historic significance of each piece: amazing chairs, intricately crafted side table, historic framed hand-painted art. 7:49 Loved imagining the sense of humor of this artist. 😆Great experience visiting Chateau Beauregard particularly with Patrick's memories of visiting it with his parents. Thank you for taking us along. 💞

What a thrill to get pieces of furniture from famous chateaus! Can't wait to see the restoration videos in the coming months! I have a couple pieces to restore myself...though with not nearly the progeny! Just the hand-me-down teak table that needs a new veneer.

oh my, I want the marble pastry table. Love the Louis xvi couch and chairs, can't wait to see what you cover it in and gilding the wood? You could leave a note inside chairs when you upholster telling their history for future

Wow. You weren't kidding when you said "haul" what beautiful finds. I really can't say what I liked best. Of course the settee was a stand out and finding 10 matching chairs was amazing👏 I really enjoy the "drives " as seeing the countryside and the towns is just as enjoyable as seeing you guys. Welllllll, Almost 😅🥰😘

Hi guys! I've been sitting on something for you for months now. You were preparing for Thanksgiving, the holidays were coming up, so I thought I'd wait. Well, I was watching a PBS show about rebuilding Notre Dame & they showed this place who still uses medieval methods to make stained glass. It seemed like it would be a nice "field trip" video for you to put on your channel. This is from my notes: "Verrerie Saint-Just on the banks of the Loire S. France. Medieval method of making stained glass. No toxins".
