Hi Patrick and Stewart 👋. Great your getting some paying guests. It’s part of the plan that’s coming together nicely 🫶. I agree with having parts of your property totally for the growth of wild flowers etc. Much of that was removed as part of the intense farming across Europe since the 2nd world war. And now being reintroduced as is so much better for the environment as well as the health of the land. Things like wild flower areas and hedges that supported all kinds of life, that’s keeps everything healthy and promotes so much diversity and pollination. And whom does not love walking through beautiful fields full of life and colour. The Gite looked lovely💕

We have gotten 4 bookings in one week so far. Not too bad. Now, like you, I was very aware that the elimination of hedges and thrown shrubs was devastating. Ooh I like those plates. I actually really like many modern reinterpretations of historic pattern styles, adding more modern colorways or changing the scale or framework, application. Gives a little flair and a wink to the eras gone by from then to our contemporary era. Adds some fun! I'm also in love with those gorgeous little terriers your friend made for you in ceramics, they're like your pupps, all alike but all little different personalities 😍 Hosting is alot of work but once you get into the swing of it, alot of fun! I met so many interesting people and made some new friends too! The gîte looks lovely, love the mix of prints and patterns in fabric and wall art! It's great that you plan to keep areas of wild pasture, it really contributes so much to the biodiversity and personally I love to lay down a picnic blanket midst tall grasses and wildflowers and listen to the buzz of the bees all around. Few things embody summertime as much as that. A stolen kiss, a stolen hour with a good book, or a glass of wine and gazing at passing clouds surrounded by a sea of green is truly amongst the best the season has to offer. You both come across as relaxed and happy in this vlog entry, and it's so nice to see! 😍 My never ending battle stripping my walls progresses but slowly. Looks like I'm gonna have to render the walls anyway as even steaming won't get the deepest layer of paper off which is stuck down with plaster, it's like peeling an overcooked potato only in mastodont proportions, mama mia! 🙄 😂

Since the gite has a small bedroom with a twin bed, it generally means kids. You should get a few toys, games, and bicycles, adult and child size, if it is safe to ride around there. You could get them from the sales you go to.

The cottage looks so lovely, the fresh cotton linen, the pictures on the walls, the guests should be most happy staying over for a while. I am sure it is very peaceful as well. Geraniums are easily wintered over. Either shake off all soil let dry & put in paper bags in cool place in the winter. Or they can grow by a window & water . Usually I would start fertilizing them in January.

We have a lot of wineries where I am in Southern Oregon and I have gathered all of the brochures from the different ones and any other activities and put them in a basket in my guest room. I also put a flash light (if the power goes off) and a couple bottles of water to take on hikes. Have fun!

I love to see you were planting lavender near the gite.Lavender is a typical french plant and it smells delicious. My peonies need more sunshine, because there still in the flower bud. I think its because of living more upnorth in the Netherlands 🇳🇱.

We have so far planted about 18 lavenders since last years. Even in pots. They are fantastic and truly associated with France. The peonies we have will be moved to better places in the fall. They smell heavenly. Hoping you get some sun so you can enjoy your peonies. Hugs ❤

My Lord, the stress!!! Finishing in the gîte and fencing it's garden and even planting it! Bravo!!!! Such a pity the brocantes were a disappointment... Personally, I've found some nice and good buys at them, but the best still in brocante and antique shops. Go have a look in Normandy, it's full of them there. With good stuff at that!

I still have to build the gate but that has to wait till the guests leave. Don’t want to hover and be in their private space. 😊. Glad you like the feel of the farmhouse. Congratulations guys in getting your airbnb up and running, its a lot of work I know but sure it will pay off and you will enjoy it.. I live in a constant round of washing cleaning and ironing with my airbnb, also clean for some other apartments as well, Monday had 10 machine loads of washing lol.. It looks great btw... Love the idea of adding to the wild flowers you should let it grow then offer it to a local farmer for hay.. nothing better for winter feed organic meadow hay.. that is unless you get some sheep or something lol, I think you have enough work already.. Hi Robb. Wow. 10 loads in the washer……. Holy cannelloni. That is a ton of work! Thank you very much for the input. So far, all the people who have seen it, liked it. Yay. ❤. I would love to have 2 donkeys…… eventually. 😂. You are absolutely right, we have enough on our plates as is right now. 😮😂. I am looking forward adding flower seeds to the meadow. There are company that sell 10-50kg bags. I cannot wit to get that tractor back. Just for the park right behind the chateau and the front……. Finders crossed and a huge thank you from us.
