Here's our plan for two delightful days of food, art, and history in Cork City: chrisplusmelissa.com/cork-city-ireland-two-delightful-days-of-food-art-and-history/ It includes an item or two that didn't make the video's cut.

It's so funny, when you were at the end of the shaky bridge, the jail is only a few mins up hill walk from there - I was surprised you didn't visit then but I've been to the jail a few times and I prefer the audio tour with the sound effects so it was probably a blessing in disguise.

When are you going to move to Ireland permanently? I get the impression you love the place. From an Irish man living in the UK. If in Dublin again go to Dalkey. Lovely walk up dalkey hill and amazing views of wicklow and Dublin Bay. Dalkey is 25mins on the Dart from centre of Dublin.

I stayed at the Clayton in May. Near the UCC campus is O Dhonnabhain (O Donovan) Street and Bridge. Full Irish breakfast was GREAT, but I could pass on the Black and White Pudding. I also found an O Donovan off license (liquor store). The Clayton is not far from the Gaol. It was a short walk, uphill.

Hi folks, I love your reactions to my native land. I'm getting to see the places that I,to my shame, have not visited before. Although I have been everywhere in Ireland, Cork holds a special place in my heart. My name is Finbarr,the patron Saint of Cork, who founded the city of Cork. The name is the English language version of the Irish name Fionnbarra, Fionn meaning fair or blonde and barr meaning top or head therefore the fair headed.

The car in this video we rented a 2021 RAV4 from Tadg Riordan Tallaght in Dublin for the full three months of our stay. It's a Toyota Dealership but they do shorter rentals. For more info and 6 more tips: chrisplusmelissa.com/7-tips-to-plan-your-best-ever-trip-to-ireland/ On a different trip we used Enterprise and were quite happy, but I believe the Enterprise one was a stick shift.

Going to Ireland in another week, wondering about parking in Cork, seeing stuff about parking discs.....did you guys have any issues parking in Cork?
@chrisplusmelissa
@chrisplusmelissa Жыл бұрын
We are not parking experts in Cork but I can say the first time we tried to go to the English Market, there was a line into the parking garage that we wanted to go to. It was a bit overwhelming (being in a bigger Irish city, driving on the other side and being new to the city was a lot to handle) We actually decided to try on another day (during the week) and went early and it wasn't so bad parking in one of the ramps near the market. Not sure if that helps, but I get a feeling that if driving in a bigger city, in Europe, it's good to plan your parking before you get there.

As I live in Cork, I can't get over some things here: What time have you been in Fitzgerald and UCC that you hadn't meet anybody? It is Cork, it is always crowded. Rain. It is Ireland. It rains here, that's it. Why did you take the car to the Gaol? It does not make sense at all, not in this bad traffic. Aren't you a bit scared of the Gaol guards figures? These haunt me after a few years still...

Are you flying in from the states? 3.5 days isn't much, and if you're flying in to Dublin, we'd recommend going to Kilkenny. It's less than 2 hours away and we loved it. But you can't go wrong with most any place we've done a video on. In our humble opinions. :)

Did you see any Corkonians whilst here as it is now predominantly foreigners here which has ruined our City. Not one bit like it used to be before the borders were thrown open by our traitors in Government. The character of the city was amazing when Cork people were in the majority. Anyhow, anyone planning to come here, enjoy the new Cork 2023 UN style.
