Those are not the classifying characteristics of an APC. An APC is an Armored Personel Carrier. The sole rule of an APC is it's ability to carry infantry. Armament, Armor, and method of propulsion are irrelevant. However, APCs are usually lightly armored (protected against small arms fire) and their armament is pretty limited (usually machine guns, but sometimes light autocannons). Wheels though, are not even a universal characteristic of APCs. As a matter of fact, some tanks use wheels aswell.

Seeing the seat with a gun reminds me of the old days of Robocraft where escape pods were a thing. Basically, you'd have a tier 1 thruster attached to the back of the seat, and if the seat lost connection to the rest of the vehicle, you'd just fly away uncontrollably to avoid getting killed.

I think this build was too back heavy and that's why it was spinning out at high speeds. I'm not an expert with this stuff but I find that tends to be the cause when I have that problem

Hm, it looks like your Armor gave you no advatage and only disadvantages, perhaps the best idea would have been pure speed since Armor only slows you down and didn't protect you from direct hits. Another option would have been a roll cage/spaced armor solution that would increase profile but decrease splash damage

The problem with trailmakers is that all the explosives usually kill you with one shot no matter what. If you survive usually you are left with 10% of the vehicle

Clearly the next time you need to build a BattleHoverBus since you will be doing hovercraft next time. Try smaller guns but you can have more. I also notice it seems that your vehicles are very fragile. I think it's purposely done in this game mode.
