Didn’t know what an Arapaima was until I saw Jeremy Wade catch one. Just found out their scales are impenetrable and have been used as body armor. By far my new fave monster fish. What a massive, majestic creature. Seeing them glide through such clear water, as happy and healthy as can be, it’s pretty awesome stuff and the main reason why I started watching OFR’s channel.

It’s very weird how Brutus is so kind and gentle with every new fish big or small. But the same species it’s a nightmare. People in farms have 50 Arapaima in a pool and they are fine.

Eith farms it's the same concept as african cichlids. The more you stuff in a tank the less likely they are to be aggressive. Take everyone out and leave 5, one will rise up and kill the rest in time.

Aripamas are like arowana’s , In most case putting two Aripama is constant picking on each other. I think you should transfer the two Aripama from the 600 gal to where Brusuer is at once they put up weight release all 3 Aripama to where Brutus is at. Trust me you will be happy with this strategy. Bth I love your channel. School of Aripama don’t fight.

It's probably a good idea to introduce new large fish that Brutus might dislike behind a net first so they get used to each other's presence. Do you guys have a plan for how you'll fit all those arapima once they get big? I worry that even that pool won't be big enough for a full size arapima, much less four.

It's so weird that Brutus is aggressive towards his own species. I've seen many instances of arapaima living in groups. It's crazy how much damage he did with just a nip. Hopefully, he gets accustom to the new fish through the net. I'm pretty sure if Beavis were bigger and you added him, he'd give big Brutus a fight. That fish is feisty.😂💪

When you have aggressive fish if you keep more than one you need to have three so they can break the tension and won't fight.

They destroy everything and chew on wires so they have their own pacu proof pool - allegedly it's pacu proof and is more of a running battle with them from what I can see :)
