We put pipe cleaners in the pushrods? Recap of all the oiling issues we had during RMRW24

‪@1320video‬ would have loved to find us on the side of the road on this repair. Some how we ended up with a high volume oil pump. it was pushing oil out of the top of the valve cover so bad that we had to stop every 50 miles to pour it back in. About 2 quarts every 50 miles. ‪@BangShiftVideo‬ Chad made a parts run to ‪@SummitRacing‬ There was a minor redesign and we needed some other fittings, and ‪@briantooleyracing3554‬ had the fittings to get the job done. We added a drain from the valve cover back to the fuel block off plate. that was still not enough. Then we added pipe cleaners to the pushrods to restrict the oil to the top of the motor. this made a huge difference and the engine stopped pushing oil out the valve cover.

A Google search said it was an old nhra pro stock trick. But we needed to do something, so we gave it a try.

I've seen high volume oil pumps blow engines. Pumps oil faster than the engine can return it to the pan. Gotta make sure you have a big enough oil pan! Just another thought.🤔 Awesome build though, wish you best of luck

This hv oil pump was a huge problem for us. I don't think it caused any bottom end damage. We were trying to manage the oil level, and the oil pressure gauge never went below 40psi. We will be pulling the engine later today and checking the bottom end.

What's the engine combination? Looks like a 300 inline

YES it is a Ford 300 inline 6, with a 68mm turbo. Running holley terminator x max for the 4r70w transmission control.
