We test the BRAND NEW STIHL ASA 20 battery-powered secateurs. They are designed for effortless pruning work around the garden. They are part of the AS System and are powered by an AS 2 lithium-ion battery and can cut through green material of up to 25mm in diameter. The fast-closing speed of the blades allow users to work efficiently to complete jobs much faster when compared to using standard manual secateurs #cordless #stihl #stihlpower #batterypowered #secateurs #pruning #gardening

Cordless secateurs are a must for any gardener. They are a game changer whatever brand you go for. I’ve got the dewalt version as I have a lot of dewalt batteries. I don’t bother with loppers anymore as the cordless secateurs can handle heavy stuff too.

Magic, looks good. I do a lot of apple and fruit trees, by the end of the pruning season, I feel like my arm is broken. Stihl promo video says these are targeted at homeowners. Does it feel like it's heavy duty commercial kit? Would it last a couple of weeks of full time use? I guess if it only lasts a season, it's not all that expensive to chuck it and buy another one.

I’ve got einhell ones of those the battery is a lot higher but they’re brilliant. Do the batteries last long? The hand saw literally runs them out in five mins which is pretty crap.

I have the DeWalt 18/20 volt version , use them often , takes the same batteries as the pole saw and all the other gear I have from them . I love my Stihl chainsaws and brushcutter but they are two stroke . Too late now for me to consider another battery platform .
@MachineryNation
@MachineryNation 22 күн бұрын
Thanks Gordon. Yes sometimes it makes sense to stick with a brand if you have the batteries already. But then if you love STIHL then its the only option 😉

Great if you're old and have arthritis etc. Would be alot quicker with a decent pair of Felcos though 😂
@mistyboat
@mistyboat 23 күн бұрын
There's pros and cons to each, whether you are old and have arthritis or not. I've switched over to mainly using electric secateurs after 20 years of using Felcos, after hundreds of thousands of cuts I wish id done it sooner. I mainly only use Felco snips for more detailed work like deadheading , outside of that I find electric secateurs better in almost every way including speed to regular secateurs, they also replace loppers on some cuts.
@MachineryNation
@MachineryNation 22 күн бұрын
😅 Felcos would be harder work after a days use 😉
