Also Jokic went from mediocre on defense to good. He doesn’t get exploited in the pick and roll as much, he can sneak a swipe here and there when he’s in the paint with an opponent. He still lacks as a rim defender and has very slightly done better.

The Sabonis slander is CRAZY. It is a distant third to Jokic and Sabonis as the best passers out of the center position. Murray, Barnes, Huerter, and Monk all feasted off his screen assists, DHOs, and kickouts on post-ups - few players elevate an entire offense better. He can absolutely hit the elbow jumper with regularity, the GS series was just the first time he faced that defense. He has good touch, so give him an offseason of working that into his game and he'll be fine on wide open 12 footers. And his defense is not bad - he stays in front of his man, doesn't leave his feet, contests without fouling, communicates from the backline, and secures rebounds to end possessions. People shoot worse when contested around the rim by him than league average, and he had a 1.8 DBPM last year. He just doesn't get a lot of steals and blocks. Oftentimes when he's scored on it's because he's helping on the drive because the Kings have some of the worst perimeter defense in the league.
