Probably already been said but the Morton Salt Girl is in a rainy area and is carrying the salt so it pours because Morton was one of the first to use anti-caking agents that prevented salt from clumping when it rained outside due to the moisture. Their motto is "When it rains it pours" because of this.

Mr. Peanut is not dead. He was reborn as Baby Nut in the second commerciap of the campaign. He then grew up and is still around. The aim of the campaign was to bring Mr. Peanut to a more contemporary audience and he can now talk - they wanted him to be less of a capitalism oldie to a more modern vibe. I have 2 stupid things about this topic. 1) I knew the person who was the Land O' Lakes Native American girl on the box. She was Ojibwa and her dad used a picture of her in traditional clothing standing in front of a field. They changed it to her kneeling so that it fit on the box. 2) We used to tell our kids that Chuck E.Cheese was closed or about to close in order to not take them. When we drive by it now, my kids say, "I think that placed shut down because it was never open." Then we laugh like idiots at our little family joke.

I've never had a container of Morton's salt where that chute actually worked the way it's supposed to. The salt always pours out of the sides (at the beginning of the chute) while also pouring down the chute, so it gets everywhere. I learned early on to only pour it over the sink because there's always going to be extra coming out, and it can ruin your food if you try to pour it directly on.

Cinnamon from Applejacks, Pillsbury dough boy, the Hamburger Helper mitten mascot, and the Trix rabbit are icons from my childhood! I'm blanking on more, but Chuck. E. Cheese?? I wish I had thought of him! As well as chester cheetah. Kool-aid man is a classic as well, and the tootsie pop owl? I forgot about him, but I am grateful for Shane listing him!

The animatronics at Chuck E. Cheese/Showbiz Pizza TERRIFIED me as a kid. Refused to go within a certain distance of the stages because those things were scary and probably going to kill child!me.
