As someone who works at a TacoBell, the reason we probably won’t get vegan meats or cheeses is because unlike most places we can’t and don’t premake anything. Everything is made on the spot as you order on our line, and we really don’t have a place to put them. But, we can also make literally anything vegan for you. Anything that has beef, we can switch it out for refried beans, black beans, rice, or potatoes without charge. We can swap sour cream to guac and also make everything fresco like you see in this video. It’s not just our crunchwrap or bean burritos we can do this for you on! You can get a beef supreme burrito and swap the beef for rice, since it already comes with beans you now have beans and rice. Swap sour-guac, make fresco-it’s now a Vegan 7 layer with onions and red sauce. Lotsa great options and we don’t charge for them.

I used to work at taco bell too last year and they hinted at an impossible meat option coming soon. And I don’t rlly understand your reasoning for why you think they’re probably not gonna offer vegan options. We add and remove all different types of ingredients in our menu all the time and it just modifies the line slightly. And so many other fast food places don’t premake anything either, they assemble things to order as well.
@DindellaTheDefender2 жыл бұрын
@@zestyd24 , I haven’t seen anything regarding any impossible meats coming, personally. In terms of why I think not, it’s because I work in a classic style store. Our lines don’t have the space. Our lines are small, both literally and the space to travel around them. I’m not sure how we’d fit an impossible meat option. But supposedly sometime this year we’re getting a reno, so fingers crossed.

It’s so sad about Starbucks because they have SO MUCH money and resources to do it right, and they don’t. Even some breakfast pastries would be so easy to veganize and regular patrons wouldn’t even know the difference!

Even Hong Kong, a place that usually is horrible with vegan substitutes at fast food places, has some vegan stuff at Starbucks now. They recently introduced a series of 3 savoury and 2 sweet snacks, and while they're not perfect, they're decent and not your average salad with a side of greens. I do remember having some vegan stuff at Starbucks in Europe years ago though! And if I remember correctly, it also was decent, even though that was like 5 years ago 🤣

Starbucks does have vegan options just not at all stores which is annoying. I actually do really like the protein meal thing because it makes me eat healthily and the guac makes it all delicious. Normally I'm not into peas in a pod for some reason, it's the string factor just like with celery, but I like it with the guac XD Also, I heard Taco Bell is doing their own vegan meat, as Chipotle did, just not sure when it will be released to the masses XD Also, you should have tried a Starbucks drink as well, I like to get the Strawberry frappe with soy milk.

I agree w/ U Rachel, about Starbucks. It surprises me how they have these vegan substitutions in the grocery store & even Whole Foods creates very little that’s vegan. Then U go to Dunkin’ Donuts & they do what Starbucks does & mixes vegan with dairy. I do not like Blaze’s vegan pizza. Maybe I’m not picking the right toppings. Dunkin Donuts has a very tasty sourdough toast w/ atacado, roasted tomatoes & Everything but the bagel seasoning, but they only give U 1 piece of toast. I’m on the east coast & the chains don’t always sell the same foods as west coast.
@deadsetondreams19882 жыл бұрын
Dunkin also automatically adds bacon on the avocado toast unless they stopped doing that recently? The only by me I always had to say no bacon but I don't go there often enough to know if they stopped doing that. I used to work at Dunkin back when I was a vegetarian and gained way too much weight so the only time I go there now is when my parents go. I'm vegan now so there's not much appeal for me except for the toasts you mentioned XD

The way Rachel asked for guacamole and refried beans was exactly correct - people constantly mixing this up is one of my pet peeves. If you want guacamole instead of sour cream, the correct way to say it is "I'd like to substitute guacamole for sour cream" (NOT the other way around). The guac is the substitute, standing in for the sour cream.

I have to give credit to Taco Bell though---going vegan doesn't always require a plant based meat alternatives. You can still eat fabulous vegan food with your normal ingredients. I'd choose good old Sri Lankan jackfruit curry, mushroom curry with the roasted coconut seasoning, lentil vade (deep fried lentil yummyness!) etc. over the world's best plant based meat alternative ANY day. Mind you, we are rather spoilt for choice in our cuisine which is easy to make vegan... For example, Sri Lankans cook jackfruit in more than 30 different ways... all of them YUMMY and none of them include the basic bi**h versions you see on easy fix YT channels...
