Lindy can do it have full belief, I was excited prior to this year but I’m even more excited now. The teams getting a bit older and that will help. I bet they do some off season moves and bring in a stud player. Buffalos making playoffs next year. -fan from winnipeg

Yup. Get Lindy behind the bench a couple yrs maybe. During which time they bring in right people to stay behind bench as Lindy slides up to whatever open spot has been waiting for him. Lindy on the road, Ruff at home!
@bajjanitor6 ай бұрын
Yeah, sounds like that's the plan. Because he keeps talking about taking the team to the playoffs. If he wanted to coach this team for longer than his 2 year contract then I think he would've been talking about building a championship team instead. Will be very interesting to see if they'll hire an assistant coach to groom for the head coaching job in a couple of years.
@Ween17766 ай бұрын
@@bajjanitoridk why but I have a feeling they're grooming Matt Ellis as that guy. Idk why. Also, I wouldn't read that far into those statements. Lindy knows what bringing a cup to Buffalo would mean to not only this team but the city and even his family. I mean he'll his son works for the team. Lindy is bleeds blue and gold. He knows what's at stake. And whether or not some fans want to admit it, this team has the skill to be in the playoffs. That's with having a good chuck of cap space to work with.

He's the right coach for this team that is filled with budding talent that has just started blossoming. Ruff is too good of a coach and motivator not to get this team into the playoffs. I'll be shocked if we are shut out again in 24/25. I think we could still use some trades to build mix in some solid veterans. We must get good goaltending as well. I think some of skill guys are gonna see their game taken to the next level with Ruff. Still lots of work to do in free agency and the draft, but the Sabres are heading in the right direction with this hire.

Question for anyone who’s happy with this hire happening so soon… hypothetically say that Tampa got swept and Jon Cooper was fired to shake things up. Is Lindy Ruff, whose message didn’t get through to the young fellas in Jersey, really the guy that is going to push this group and make them hold each other accountable? Maybe he can be, but what was the hurry? It makes zero sense

Well, Sabers got boring again. Did no one see that the mastermind behind NJs success was Andrew Brunette?! This season NJ took three steps back from last year and Preds went to poffs against all odds because of Brunette. Buffalo would need modern couch in likes of Bednar or Cooper. I'm predicting that under Ruff Sabers won't see any elevation of success. He might be nice and "used to be good" but the "meh" in Buffalo will continue. I hope I'm wrong though for the sake of fans!
