Who owns this house and who is funding Micki and the others to live there? I don't imagine these people are holding down 9-5 jobs in DC.
@WorldsUnhealthiestFitPersonАй бұрын
Yep. Regular people don't have the means to just camp out every night anywhere. Follow the money. Probably the same CHUDs who pulled the "drive gas-guzzling cars to protest gas prices" stunt around 95 & 495.

Patrick Byrne pays for the house. They live off donations from their livestream viewers and a phony Chinese church with no actual location based out of Round Hill VA. Proud Boy con artist Randy Ireland helped them get started but stole over $10k from them on his way out. Their funding isn't what it once was. Let's see if the authors of this puff piece get into their funding, but I'm doubtful.

Never during the Civil War did the flag of the Confederacy fly at the Capitol. Not until January 6th did that occur. While the force was thankfully small, disorganized and impotent, it was nonetheless a planned and sponsored attack aimed at killing our democracy. Other western democracies would not have treated the insurrectionists- and their congressional supporters- nearly so lightly. It's frankly insane, looking back, that congresspeople reconvened just hours later with insurrectionist supporters, inciters and sympathizers among them. Many political careers would have permanently ended that day, in other democracies. And historically, the congress of Lincoln and Johnson wouldn't have put up with it for a moment.

@@ExterminatorElite lol just like Biden you liberals can’t seem to make up your minds. Either we’re the most dangerous threat to our country since Al Qaida or we pose no threat whatsoever since we would need jets and tanks to overthrow the government. So which is it? Or is it only situational and you vacillate between the two depending on when you need to look strong and when you need to convince others that conservatives are a threat? Which is it?

I hope they interview the families of the cop that was murdered and the cop that had to shoot. The mob put those police officers in an impossible situation. The cop that shot was literally the last line of defense. The whole point of him being there was to defend the people inside that room. What was he supposed to do? Ask her nicely to please depart the premises as the mob chanted the names of the people they planned to hang??? She was in the military. Do the mothers of those she killed deserve justice? And why arent they mad at trump? Wasnt he supposedly going to walk down there with them? If he had told them to stop earlier she might still be alive or if he had sent the reinforcement and aid those police officers had asked for sooner maybe shed still be alive. But no. The person who was doing their job and protecting people gets the blame. Ill give this podcast one more try but it's just making me mad so far. Im sick of the hypocrisy and cognitive dissonance.

@@ubergeek248 reported as misinformation. No cops died that day. And the one cop who died later died from an unrelated cause. Just more liberal lies trying to paint conservatives as the threat to this country, when it is YOU and YOUR PARTY that are the threat to this country. Unless you think confiscating guns, silencing speech and violating the constitution aren’t threats to our democracy.

This podcast nicely illustrates that one's political and ideological foes are also people that otherwise may not be that different from oneself. Kudos to the reporter for having the intellectual maturity to realize and admit that her instinctive actions and words were not quite right, and for apologizing for them.

Don't get me wrong, the Jan 6 attackers are very lucky that I was not responsible for security that day. I have no problem with admitting that nobody would have made it out of that building alive. It is one thing to commit a crime, its a totally different thing to think you can attach my nation from the inside and think you should be provided due process. I would have made sure that anyone who even attempted coming up the steps never made if off the grass without a hole in their body of some type. That aside, I feel for the family of Ashley and anyone who would have lost a family member that day, I understand the feelings of loyalty to those you love even when they do what could be considered wrong. I do not have a lot of sympathy for those incarcerated as again I consider them lucky but again, that aside, I do feel for the families of those caught in limbo waiting for that loved one to get discharged or meet their final disposition and even when those who are grieving may seem deplorable themselves, we have to be civil and try to set the best example of what it is to respect them as people and try to empathize with them because if all we do is give them a hard edge, we give them a reason to hold that grief which will turn to anger.

Amazing storytelling. And like so many great stories…, starts with an incredible coincidence of events.
@ExterminatorEliteАй бұрын
This is such a fascinating story. Humanizing, yes, but not sympathizing, which is the crucial balance to strike in a story like this. Micki seems first and foremost animated as a mother who lost her daughter, which is an immensely powerful animating force. She's a radical who's also depoliticized. Lines like, "Well maybe they kill babies and drink their blood. Maybe not. I don't know what they're capable of." are what you get when the world has stopped making sense to you, and it clearly has for Micki as it has for millions of Americans. As you underscore, this is deeply dangerous. Even her project to- understandably- venerate her daughter is primarily the project of someone who needs something to keep herself going, but it's also an anti-democratic revisionist project with potentially real ramifications.

There is an important detail that is overlooked here, there were two guys bravely standing in front of the chamber doors while the mob was raging around them (I don't even think they were cops). Three cops show up in full riot gear w/ sa rifles and the dudes, without waiting for the armed cops to move in front of the doors, leave....the window gets broken, the people at the front see the gun and peel so Ashley can take the fatal round as she unknowingly storms into the lethal defense of the chamber. I want to talk to those guys in front of the chamber doors and the cops. I wonder what they were thinking
