This is great and therma-rest no longer offers the orange pump sack for the old screw valves. I may even try to retrofit this to an old BA generic pump sack that has been giving me fits.

Cool idea! My thermarest pump sack just broke so this is a great cheap, lightweight option to replace it. Also just a heads up if you just push down on the top of the blue piece of the cap it just pops out, no cutting needed.

Darn, I was thinking this was instructions on how to make a sleeping bag liner, not a pumpsack. Pumpsack is still a very cool diy project! Maybe clarify the video title?

Thanks. Very clever. But, I just bunch up the opening of my normal bag liner inside my fist, insert thermarest valve, tighten my grip, and press the air. Takes 3 bags of air. No need for any modifications. It works wonderfully.

Mark Cummings I do the same thing. Keeps the full bag intact and is compatible with the new thermarest valve design!
