40 degrees is good weather for camping. The coldest I have camped was 19 degrees with a homemade jean quilt.

Thanks for making this video, it's really helpful to see people making this own gear, as it's a different route to building out a set of equipment. You mentioned it was inspired by a quilt guide that 'Joe Brewer' created, but I couldn't find that video anywhere - please could you include this in the description? Thanks, Paul

Even if you don't use it as a poncho it still is one of the lightest tarp shelters you can buy!😊
@donolinger69045 ай бұрын
You didn't show all of it's features. from what ive seen but I'm probably wrong. What is that square patch that looks like it covers a stove jack? Is it the pocket that the poncho/shelter fits into? I bet it is.

Very nice. I’d like to try some with a wick. What size fiberglass cloth do you use - and is it tape or do you glue it on?

Thank you for the video and content. But bro, the rambling. Get your thoughts together. Make an outline before the video. Get to the points. And edit out the fluff.

I'm in the future, now we have something they call an infinity tool, great to fashion in conjunction with trekking poles an emergency splint or an impromptu tourniquet. Marvelous piece of kit. You can buy little hooks for it that lets you dry out your clothes. Mwah, chefs French kiss.

It’s an easy one to make and I found it the fastest on the boil with a bit of tweaking of the height of inner liner , but I had one warp it got so hot the supper cat isn’t as fast but more stable

There's no need to be sorry.. Surge is fantastic for cabinet work, hardware install like Grab bars, and putting furniture together. I'd rather have the Surge for those types of jobs. But yeah, the Gen 4 is insane!

I was once on a two or three night backpacking trip and when I went to make myself some noodles for lunch (about 6-7 miles down the trail) I realized that I had forgot my alcohol stove. I had brought all the fuel I would need but not the stove. As I was hiking I decided I would try and find a beverage can to be able to make hot food. Sure enough at my first campsite I found a beverage can and made a simple stove using the scissors on my pocket knife. If I had only brought a fuel canister and no stove I would have been totally out of luck.
