You're exactly right... With depression issues , many people battling stay moving because they have to have a job and that's what keeps them moving and not just laying in bed 24/7 feeling fatigued.Hwr job is something that she doesn't HAVE to get up. She has nothing to force her to move and that is the biggest issue through these years not having a regular job. It doesn't help ANYONE who battles mental health .

True. Due to my disabilities I can't work anymore and the exhaustion from having nothing is very hard to deal with. But, I am also not able to actually do much and build up off of that because I get a setback twice as hard. I feel stuck and do not want to grow old. Keeping moving is indeed better for the mind, as hard as it is. Don't fall into the trick of "not having to work would feel so much easier". Maybe for a bit. A few days, 2 weeks max. But then get back at it again. If not, it is only going to get worse.

Not just true for making depression worse, but enables the overeating. Lots of hard work working people are overweight, but i don’t think there is any super morbidly obese person who is able to maintain that status while being out of the house at a job all day. People that big either work from home or don’t work at all. From personal experience, when I was between jobs, I was at my most miserable and unhealthy. Thankfully nothing extreme happened but I can imagine it getting worse if I didn’t work . I’m an introvert too! Home alone time is a vacation for me. Depression, boredom, no sense of urgency or responsibility-that’s what destroys a person’s health. She never challenges herself so any inconvenience gets stressful. And it lets the stress fester and it manifests in what we see now

I’m so sick of the bpd bs. I have bpd and I was on meds for a year but decided I didn’t want to be on them anymore so I stopped. I spiraled but I was also aware I still needed help. So what did I do? Go to therapy. I’ve been in therapy for about 2 years now and I’m a completely different and better person than I was before it. I have never used my bpd as an excuse for anything. It’s just plain lazy at her grown ass age to not even call and shop around for the right therapist for her. 99% of therapist do zoom calls too. Like girl doesn’t have to leave her bed if she doesn’t want to. Just do something for yourself for once amber pleaseeeee

Something that I've always hated about Amber is how she tries to diagnose herself with things just because she's feeling normal human emotion. A lot of people overmedicate and it's a flaw in our system just over medicating people for things that they should feel if that makes any sense. If you were in a s***** place in life, like she is, where she knows she's overweight and she has genuine reason to have anxiety about her future and genuine reason to feel depressed because her girlfriend doesn't truly love her, She doesn't need medication and I don't think this has anything to do with mental illness. This is her primal human emotion that's kicking in to tell her something's not right. We are supposed to feel these emotions so that we can act and do something about stuff and survive. I know some ppl truly need meds and I'm not talking down, I'm just saying she needs to allow herself to feel this stuff to do something about it.

Idk i think she needs meds, and actually stick to them not give up after a month, cause sometimes it's not possible to make the changes when you're in that deep. I wasn't able to work on myself until I was medicated, cause I was just falling deeper in my misery and knew i was hurting myself in the process. Well put. Feeling "negative" emotions isn't always bad mental health, sometimes it's how we are supposed to feel in a particular situation. (Not saying she is a healthy person, far from it, but her feeling depressed and frustrated in her current circumstances is a perfectly healthy reaction to a bad situation, telling her something is not right.)

I can't understand why she wouldn't try to have meatballs, even frozen, on hand, cook some hard boiled eggs, learn pasta recipes where you use primarily vegetables like spinach or zucchini or cauliflower with fresh herbs and cut back on the noodles and skip the ramen and garbage food. Bake or sauté chicken breasts and tenderloin and keep them on hand for late night cravings. (Is there anything better than cold cooked chicken?) There is a wealth of recipes which can be made homemade, or at least semi homemade, that actually give you nutrition. I would rather she eat one serving basmati or a wild rice blend with vegetables, even just onions, than those chocolate chip cookies and Doritos. She is not having one small snack each "night" (whenever that is, probably starting at 4 or 5 in the morning).
