At the beginning of the episode, you mentioned that your marriage is not perfect,but I have to say that one of the main reasons your marriage seems to be working so well is likely your level of self-awareness. It's admirable how you resolve issues and communicate honestly. With this level of honesty relationships are most likely to thrive.❤❤ this channel is so liberating.

The Bible says in Genesis 3:16 “I will sharpen the pain in your pregnancy and in pain you will give birth. And you will have desire to control your husband but he will rule over you’ We can be controlling and I think it’s cause we want things to happen smoothly and in a certain way. I see myself in Petula so much. This is such an interesting conversation. Thank you so much for opening up to us and being vulnerable. As a single who hopes to get married someday, this is teaching me so much about the realities of marriage. I’m grateful for these kinds of platforms. ❤

❤My husband I would always mention to each other and say... Why dont other married folks talk about these topics... Are we the only once going through this?? Why don't men speak when they hang out about what they struggle with. These topics are so needed in these times especially for young married couples... We don't have the tools... We don't know where to go for help or even how to start the conversation.... Thank you guys for this.

Yhoooo… you know I don’t think I can ever get tired of saying thank You Mr and Mrs Makhs, for allowing your marriage to be used by GOD, for allowing yourselves to be fully vulnerable… in this climate we are in of Divorce, Divorce due to a number of things… I am sitting here and I am hopeful, hopeful for my marriage, hopeful that, marriages where Love always thrives exist, that it doesn’t all have to end because of the 25% that’s in a funk, but to seek help on how to best deal with a certain season in our marriages…❤

Wow, that is true Lerato, your wife tackles life with such honesty, and also the ability to see her own shortcomings, a rare quality indeed. And this is in a world where everyone is very clear about what is wrong with others, and out to correct the next person while they fail to see fault in themselves. I also commend you for your honesty and humility to not only notice it but point it out verbally. That speaks to the goodness of your heart, Lerato. May God keep you guys and bless your marriage to continue to be a blessing unto others❤

Im listening so far, and it sounds like hubby has found his own path to cope with the said issue, and he is advising his wife to follow in his path because he believes it has worked for him. And though I can appreciate that sentiment, it could be possible that what he has chosen to do is not to resolve but to adapt in a way that is not going to work for the wife. I believe he should lean more into what his wife needs in order to feel safe and protected instead of insisting that she copes the way that he copes. And wife may need to consider that he has not been able to find the answer for himself in the matter, just to survive the matter, maladaptive as it may be longterm. (My two cents)

27:23 I get Mrs Makhs, there’s safety in knowing why you going a different route, as she said information and communication I thrive in that as well. I also get Mr Makhs that he wants to be trusted on deciding on a different route, however it’s better if a man communicates that and then a woman can rest in that you got it and you acknowledged my feelings and pain.
@valentinendlovana9537Күн бұрын
Oooh my word!!! This sounds exactly like what my husband and I are facing. And his response is exactly like Lerato is saying. Mine was exactly like Pheto’s! We had the disagreement last night 😮! I needed him to confront an issue that has been brewing. He left it too long, mainly because he is not a confrontational person. I on the other hand felt that by keeping quiet he is not protecting me. He kept saying, ‘even if confront the person they will never change. It just made me so mad. Because I am confrontational and him speaking up would have made me feel more protected 😅

The level of self-awareness and willingness to find solutions to existing matters and to your 25% of your pie, makes you guys stronger than comprehension. God prunes branches and things in our lives that don't bear fruit, so more fruit is beared(John 15:1-4). I would like to say, that as you've mentioned that you're a team, that you need to stand together to "fight" against the problem, instead of fighting each other. I see that counseling is working and you comprehend this strategy, so i just want to say that God is pruning because He knows where He's taking you and He cannot bring you to it with these parts of you still in you. Go with God and be blessed!❤

What a beautiful kingdom centred talk on counseling therapy. Every wise counsel gives one an opportunity for growth. Don't be hasty to complete your counseling sessions. I know that sometimes there are financial implications. But learn to commit your family finances where your marriage health is. WHERE NO COUNSEL IS, THE PEOPLE FALL. BUT there is safety in a multitude of counselors. Proverbs 11: 14 ❤️✝️ You are a beautiful kingdom vessel. Re ya leboga.

“If you leave I’m not fetching you” is so funny and so real😂😂😂 Honestly women use these ultimatums when the gravity of the situation is not “seen”. Thank you fam for the beautiful conversation, I'm like Mrs Makhs,recently my boyfriend told me that I'm controlling and I was offended and wanted to defend myself butcI took time to digest it and he was right, this happened when we had an argument I wanted us to confront the issue before hand,meanwhile he was silent minding his own business, that got me frustrated got I think a part of me wanted to control the situation how he reacts and me trying to find solutions coz I'm solution based..another thing that play a huge role is how we were raised,from a young age Ii had to go grow up fast,my mom is a pastor I had to do chores at home take care of my siblings, take care of the household that's where the controlling started I'm 28 now I'm tired I want to be led

Thanks so very much for this. It is relatable but came too late for me. It will certainly help my son as they navigate that space. Forgiveness would be great on my part.
