As an fyi on why those 3 were "lumps of flesh" healing magic didn't work: Remember Shion's new "cooking" skill, Master Chef? Yeah, that shit is busted af. It literally allows her to achieve her desired outcome, no questions asked. It's basically low level reality warping. She can use it to cook something that tastes well while doing everything wrong, she can use it in combat, or she can use it to torture prisoners with no chance of them dying. As for why they couldn't be healed with healing magic: Shion was beyond pissed, so after she was done with them, she used her skill to make that their "default state", meaning that from the pov of the world itself, this was now how they were supposed to be. Healing magic returns someone to how they're supposed to be, so it had no effect on them.

13:00 A clarification of why they're spinning the story: Rimuru doesn't want the humans to know that he was the one who slaughtered the Farmus army. He's trying to build a reputation as a peaceful and caring neighbor. People already know of Veldora as a terrifying force of nature. They would believe that he slaughtered the army and it wouldn't change people's perspective on him. Rimuru, outside of his immediate neighbors like Dwargon and Blumund, is an unknown. People knowing that Rimuru himself slaughtered tens of thousands of humans would not help his reputation.

Yes, Rimuru doen't need to eat at all and this fact was disclosed at the very beginning ( S1 epi1 ) by Rimuru himself while consuming all the hipokute herb. Rimuru doesn't need to eat, breath or poop and he was consuming those herbs just because he have nthg to do inside that cave.

The kings had that reunion after Rimuru became a demon lord, and they decided to lie about what really happened. Instead of "Rimuru wiped out the entire army" they went with "The combat revived Veldora and he killed everyone".

Diablo's Skill allows him to track and read the intentions (esp. intent to betray) of anyone who submits or otherwise has their spirit broken by him, and the Skill is invoked. He then may take their souls if he so chooses. Quite the deterrent. 15:55 Btw, the potion didn't fix the king either. It's a type of healing magic. Diablo used it as cover for his own magic, and as a marketing opportunity.

The thing was that Rimuru and the friendly nations who visited after the war came up with a story as to how Veldora came back and Rimuru became a demon lord. If some monster who massacred an entire army of 20,00 offered to be friends, other nations wouldn't believe it, so they are lying and saying how the bloodshed from the intense battle revived Veldora. There were no survivors from Falmuth besides those three, so they could give whatever story they wanted to the rest of the world. Since Veldora was known as a catastrophe whose messing around causes mass destruction (not that they know he was just playing around), blaming him for all the deaths was a simple matter. By claiming they calmed Veldora's fury after his revival, Rimuru would be considered more trustworthy for others.

It also puts the blame on others, and makes Tempest as a whole look like saviors.

The anime simplified the explanation of Diablio's unique skill Tempter, but it doesn't just prevent betrayal. Diablo actually has 2 Unique skills (the first one isn't really relevant and is only explained/mentioned in his character sheet at the end of one of the LN volumes covered in Season 2 of the anime). The first one is "Seeker/Great Wiseman". It's a mental skill (same category as Rimuru's previous Great Sage (now evolved into Wisdom King Raphael) and Veldora's previous "Investigator/Inquirer" (now evolved into Lord of Investigation Faust). The biggest different being that Diablo's mental unique skill is more focused on manipulation of reality and magical laws than on mental effects. Diablo actually used this skill (Seeker/Great Wiseman) in this very episode. It is the skill he used to revert the effect of Shion's unique skill "Chef" on the 3 people in the boxes. The second unique skill, "Tempter", aka the one name dropped in this episode, is MUCH more powerful. Some of the uses of this skill will be revealed later so I will not spoil them and will instead only explain what Diablo did in this episode with the Tempter skill. This use of the Tempter skill is similar to Rimuru's previous "Merciless" unique skill (once someone submits to Rimuru, he can steal their soul) in that it triggers when someone submits to Diablo and the moment said person submit to him in any way or form, no matter how small, Diablo can choose to gain control over their souls without stealing them. THIS is why they cannot betray Diablo. Because now their souls are owned by Diablo, and they are now both physically and mentally unable to go against him and his will. Additionally, Diablo is now able to sense their presence no matter where they are, can communicate mentally with them no matter where they are, and most of all, Diablo can now extinguish their souls to nothing with just a thought, no matter where they are regardless of distance between them.

People seem to forget, while Diablo is, by far the most dangerous being in the throne room of Falmuth in that scene, he's not the ONLY dangerous being in that room. We know how powerful Razen is...but everyone else in that little group from Tempest, is equal to him, or stronger. Everyone's afraid of Diablo for good reason, but even Youm, arguably the weakest of the bunch, could fuckin body the entire capital, solo. That one mouthy noble really had no fuckin clue what he was about to set off, even disregarding Diablo. Falmuth is so wholly and royally fucked.

I kinda wanna see Veldora find love. Just...some moderately cute but very unassuming monster girl (no hotties) who isn't powerful at all, and just likes Veldora's quirky, childish personality. And Veldora is just smitten with her lack of fear and her appreciation for his oddness. Through his interactions with her, he actually learns to have some care in how he speaks and acts, because she's so weak that one wrong move from him could destroy her.

So the king Edmaris will choose to become a vassal state and abdicate the throne, therefore losing his royal influence. But the novels will not agree with that and rather choose reparations instead, resulting in two opposing factions. The king, having lost his power, will have to face the brunt of the nobles' wrath looking for somebody to blame. Youm will use his influence to back the king up, resulting in civil war where Youm becomes the leader and champion worthy of leadership.

They are choosing the Reparations route in the anime too. Abdicating the throne is part of that route. It still leaves the question of who will rule instead open. Choosing that will force an alliance with Youm eventually, but Youm will be an ally, not a vassal. Youm will have have to gain support from both nobility and the people, and they will choose Youm, he won't be imposed upon them. It might be what Tempest intends, and Tempest will maneuver into making that choice, but the country will not be ruled by Tempest. Otoh, becoming a vassal state would mean the nobles losing all power. This is not a spoiler, it's what I think this episode is trying to convey.
