Honey is so cute! I would reccommend doing "swimming lessons" with her. teaching her how to get in and out of the pool safely incase she falls in! dogs are very smart and she'll learn fast I'm sure! I would first talk to you vet and do your research on her breed on when developmentally speaking it's safe for her to swim.

@@Ava_hamsterloverforlifeyes, you are right, they do know how to swim instinctively but they need to be introduced to deep bodies of water gradually and safely so they don't get traumatised. Puppies tend to panic when they accidentally fall into a pool and if they are not familiar on which way to climb out safely, they'll associate the pool ( or any big bodies of water for that matter) to fear.

The best thing you could do for Honey is get her used to being brushed, whilst shes got a licky mat is a good time so she has a positive association with grooming. Also remember a brush lies a comb will tell the truth on whether shes got any mats anywhere. This is especially important after a bath where they rub on towels and cause mats. Thats also a good time to feel and play with her feet so that shes fine with having her nails trimmed. Also find a good groomer shes going to be needing one on a regular schedule of every 6 to 8 weeks. Your doing great with Honey

Cotton ball in each ear before bath. Get a squeeze bottle and put some shampoo in it with the rest water. Shake it and bath her with that. You use less shampoo that way. Also don’t wet her first, use the shampoo mixture and then rinse. Yes her get her face too! Get an ear cleaner and clean the ears after. Tons of videos for you to learn or when she goes to the vet have them teach you!

Honey is so cute. You’re doing great, just keep a look out for ear infections. Doodles get them very easily so it advise to put anti septic ear flush or epi-otic anytime she gets her face or ears wet. If you notice the inside of her ears are red, she scratching at them a lot and/or you smell something not quite right coming from her ears then she probably has an ear inflection, they get pretty easily due to the big floppy ears and the amount of hair that grows in there ears. Again your doing great and honey seems well love.

This is so adorable cute with Honey! She is half Golden Retriever who loves water and fetch/retrieve naturally. You can hide bird training toys to teach her in search and retrieve back to yourself without taking her as bird hunt dog within itself. It is fun physical and mental activity for Honey who is naturally well smart within her own intelligent genes as poodle and golden retriever mixed breed. Giving Honey activities physically and mentally simulation will helped with pesky destruction issue activities such as digging and tearing things up when left alone at times. This will be interesting and entertaining of building brand new house. ❤

Honey is adorable! It may be easier to get her groomed upon occasion. My friend has a golden doodle (90#) and he has to get a hair cut twice a year cause his hair continuously grows. Also, if/ whem you decide to spay her, I recommend looking into a gastropexy as well. Larger dog breeds are more susceptible to bloating (GDV). When you do a gastropexy, they tact her stomach to the side wall of the abdomen to prevent it from flipping. Just a thought from a vet med peep ❤

One recommendation I would give is make sure you are looking at grooming for doodles. Doodles need to be groomed every 6 weeks and brushed all the way down threw there coats daily or they will mat at their under coat causing them pain and you won’t even be able to see the mat because it is the under coat but the dog will be in pain. So definitely recommend looking up grooming doodles and upkeep on doodles.

I wish my mum and her other half would even remotely consider this for me. Not so much where they're living right now, but if they moved away down to the south west coast in a few years or so, I live in hope they'd get a house with what we call a granny flat or granny bungalow exstention or annex bedroom type apartment where I could live on the grounds if I rented from them. Living in private rental sucks here in the UK, because if you're on disability benefits as I am, that doesn't cover the full whack from the landlord who rents mine and I gather, several other properties over a wide area of Surrey. I am thankful that he accepts benefits as rental income, because up until quite recently, a lot of landlord's wouldn't accept benefits. Yes, I could go out to work up to 16 hours per week, but I would be stuck on minimum wage which would be around 15 to 16 US dollars per hour tops. What is the flipping point? O well, it sucks and its my life, but wow! All the best with the humungus building project. Reminds me of when my late Aunt's ex built the house they lived in until she died 10 years ago next month. That was my dream house, where I would want to go if only I won a stack on the lottery or something. He since moved to a property very close to the afore-mentioned property which he also built.
