Turmoil Heat Is On Game Overview:
Turmoil - The Heat Is On is a brand new campaign with tons of oil to dig up and convert into cash! It is designed to make you feel right at home, but at the same time offer lots of new mechanics and fun features. Here's what you can expect!

Turmoil The Heat Is On Gameplay Features:
►A new town (and mayor!) and a new oil-rich map divided into three areas.
►In each area, new drilling mechanics are introduced, powered by a new underground substance: magma.
►You'll see familiar faces like Edward and Fred and William. They brought their goods with them in train wagons, so you can instantly stock up on all your favorite drilling gear.
►There are also new people, like Philip, who runs a shady card game in the saloon.
►Jack is a new character that runs a magma tools operation from his shed. He likes chicken.
►Anthony is also back from last time. Instead of dealing in diamonds, he has his own store where you can sell and buy all sorts of underground treasures.
►The new mayor is not quite like the old one. His tips are free, and he uses a different auction system. But shares still cost money!
►There's a cat walking around the village! He doesn't do a whole lot, but what can you expect from these creatures?
And last but not least: a couple of brand new music tracks!

Turmoil Heat Is On Evolution:
A lot of the content in The Heat Is On is based on learnings from Turmoil. We noticed that not all of the players used natural gas to its full potential. That's why we've lowered the entry level for using gas. From the start, Left and Right Inc. will have built-in gas intake capabilities. No more expensive upgrades needed, high oil prices for everyone! Overall, the exploitation of gas has been made more straightforward. Experienced players should however not be afraid that the game has become less challenging. Playing the drilling game is still all about making smart decisions under time pressure, especially in the final area!
The metagame in this new DLC-campaign offers more depth. Instead of diamonds, a total of 9 underground treasures are available. Collecting them all (by trading or digging them up) will offer great benefits. Besides this, the village offers even more things to do, like playing a card game for money.

You don't have to surround the gas in this DLC. You only have to connect magma (to get the heat) then connect the pipe (with heat) to the gas pod and then "close the node" that connected to the gas pod (specifically the node that hit the gas pod). When you close the gas node (with heated pipe) it'll turn that node into "green color" (not red) which mean the gas pod is growing :D. Also you can close the node before the pipe finish drilling, that way it'll prevent any unnecessary gas leak : ). You didn't close the "node" of that gas pod so that's why it didn't grow bigger : D. 1 more tip : if you don't understand how to use something, you can go to mayor's office > mayor's tips. It'll show you in video how to use your new upgrade. Edit : BTW by node I mean joint/valve : ) hope you don't get confused.

Blitz - you were so close. To grow the gas pockets, you have to run a pipe going from the magma going into the gas. You then close the joint that's INSIDE the gas pocket. It will then turn green, rather than red, and it will start growing. Like this so Blitz finally learns

From what I have seen, you have to pipe into it, and before the pipe gets there, you have to close it (The end of the pipe sticking into the gas, not the other pipes.)

You can also close it after it gets ther, but you'll lose some gas. Also the pipe needs to be connected to the magma, otherwise it wont expand.

Of course we know how to expand gas. This game really explains this information really well. I don't know how one can miss it. You get the info during purchase of expansion upgrade, and it is in Mayor's Tips as well. You just have to connect gas pocket to the heated pipe, and close the gas pocket valve.

I think Mayor's Tips also probably has an illustration of any new mechanics. I recall them being just good examples for things, and actually useful unlike "tips" in most other games. It might also explain what the Exclusivity Deals for Left/Right Inc are. (The money signs on the sides of their buildings.)

You should encircle a pocket of Gas completely, then close off all the joints. The pipes will turn red and the Gas will start growing. The grow effect is very small right now, so keep an eye on it. Gas will grow quicker if pipes are closer. This is what I found on the page

it is cheaper and more efficient to use multiple moles under a dowser than do even a tiny scan, to expand the gas connect the system to magma, then, connect a pipe to the gas, close off the valve which is in the gas, also dude, take loans, don't waste time which is priceless!

For certain, if you connect the gas to the magma and close the valve on the gas, the valve should turn green instead of red and the gas will start to expand.

just a tip. put 1 silo beside both right and left inc quite at the beginning of the game so you can sell quickly and enjoy the highest price not wasting time in transport. the extra chariot required are worth it

Blitz to expand the gas you have to heat up the pipes by connecting the to magma then connect a pipe to the gas (make sure it is still heated up) and close the pipe (aka the node) that is in the gas (I think it also only grows a certain amount depending on the heat of your pipes) if you look in the mayors tips it will show you an image and explain a little bit more. good luck drilling

another side note XD you HAVE to keep looking for treasure not just oil if you dont grab it thats money lost (also if there are 2 good prices like 1.05 and 1.00 you should have some horses selling on each side also you should grab more moles they're very efficient especially with the upgrades you have)

There is an achievement called Magmificent. it says convert an oil well to gas and triple its size. So maybe you have to surround an oil pool and not a gas pool?

Just open the mayor tips. U just need to put a pipe in the gas pocket and close that particular node. It should be connected to magma and it will expand. No need for this surrounding crap.

@blitz when the timer is ticking you dont get hit with the spillage fines. its only when the bell is ringing that the spilling starts. and the best thing to do if the timer is ticking is buy more horses first, rather than what you are doing any buying extra storage then horses. The extra horses come with extra storage and it addresses the spillage issue much quicker. Keep playing buddy!

To grow the gas you have to Stop right bevore the gas with the Pipe, Close it and dig fromm there into the gas and Klick on the end of the Pipe so that it gets Green ( and somwhere your System has to be conected to Magma ) 😉

I've never played the game so I don't know if this works or not but try taking the gas to a larger pocket and also taking the lava to the same pocket and see if the gas expands inside the larger pocket whatever pocket you emptied out the oil from

To expand the gas, drill from magma into gas, and close the pipe in the gas. It should be green when you’ve done it. One pipe, no extra stops. Surrounding it was the old method, it’s different now. Later, To turn oil into gas, Simply drill directly from magma into an oil pocket and close the pipe in the oil (no stops in between, one pipe). Choose an oil pocket close to magma, drill into it and close the pipe in the oil.
