C4 is my favorite, I used to hate it but it aged like a fine wine, its timeless, fantastic car. Proud 1985 owner. I keep it original but always thought this would be the perfect EV conversion, especially bc it doesn’t have a front grill. can’t wait to see where this project goes. it would he a nice touch to put back the original radio just so it would look full original despite of the EV conversion.

There was this one review of an Air by a smaller channel who almost wrecked it on the highway minutes after the drive started... because a giant box flew off the bed of truck and landed right in front of them. The rubber surrounding the power supply wire to the ecm often breaks down and loses its connection. Replace the power wire and you will stop having that issue. This is coming from someone who has spent plenty of time on the side of the road due to this issue.

I'm one of the weird ones that actually LOOOOOVE the C4 body style... particularly the refreshed '91 - '96 version. That button you were pushing in the hatch is the release mechanism for the targa top when you store it back there. As for your no start issue, I wouldn't be a bit surprised if the Opti-Spark took a dump. That or the fuel pump died.

Got your rear hatch access answer. You were pressing the correct button (at the door) to open it. But... There's a button inside the center console (yellow) as a 2nd way to open the rear hatch. And the button thing you were pressing in the back is there to secure the Targa top inside the back (yes the top is removable). My 84's rear hatch pistons are completely shot so I have to push my fingers under the glass to lift it up. Be careful with putting it down though, because you can shatter the glass if it falls down too hard. Going to follow this because I want to find a beat up C4 Corvette and convert it to electric. Also I hate wearing white shoes and shorts haha

For the hatch There is a button in the center consul and the door card hatch button that wasn’t working is because it’s only activated when the door ajar switch is on and it seems like the door ajar switch is broken it’s a little black knob next to the switch on the door If the lights are not on in the cabin then the Hatch won’t open

What an adventure! I'd love to see you use the Tesla small rear drive unit, which is 220kW and about 300hp since I'm planning to use it in a 996 and would love to see someone else work with it and see how you do the motor controller, etc. They are cheap and you get to ditch the transmission, plus 220kw would be plenty in this car. I saw some Nissan Leaf modules, I'm also planning to use those.

it would be cool if you could get a Model S Plaid motor. I am sure there are a lot of people who already crashed those car's. Also awesome video's I love when you put new stuff out. This was funny, I'm here because I just want to see them do crazy stuff to cars. Reverse motor ideology swaps really get me going.
