I loved this series, especially lately the arm crawling and piston shenanigans were fun and mind blowingly clang free. However I'm REALLY itching for you to get back into doing some space stuff again. The "bots" seem to be working out okay and you could really probably manage a pretty good crew of low key helpers for some structured semi staged combat adventures! The group of five you got going now just really seem to be working good together and I've seen enough wheels for a while :)
@dooogey27912 жыл бұрын
wow, I made what I thought was a pretty big awesome mobile base, and I called it big boy, it has 2 crafting stations, a refinery, a drill, and it can also fly every once in a while with hydrogen thrusters, but its main way of movement is via four very large wheels and atmospheric thrusters to give it that extra boost when it's moving, I thought that was considered very large, that isn't even as big as ONE of the train-car things you have for your mobile base, good god

That decent down the cliff was amazing, the colours and armour you chose for the arms was beautiful and really effective! But how, by Lord Clangs eye teeth did you get down without it going horribly, fantastically, unbelievably and spectacularly wrong? I mean, okay, the end was a little quicker than intended, but still, you guys pulled it off with style, if not quite grace. The dog fight at the end, magnificent, even though Capac, in true professional style, spent more time fighting his own plane than the bots. If the next one is the finale, it will be a bittersweet one, for this has been such a great watch, thank all of you for sharing this journey with us.

1:10:00 I think that's a great idea for the next time you do this, make a rover ball where there's no up or down. You just deal with whatever orientation is happens to be in at the time.
@JescoLincke2 жыл бұрын
And when you think you've seen it all, they come up with a daring cliff descent, almost failing at the end - a brilliant recovery, followed by a victorious air battle. That's the stuff that series' finales are usually made of, so I'm a little sad to see the unavoidable (and, of course, successful) end approaching. I do hope the robots have some final nasty surprises for you, though... Maybe an artificial wormhole that teleports you back to square one. Or maybe the whole north pole just lifts off into space when you approach... Capac had it right during the abseil by the way (2:38:30)! Keeping the runway deployed would have stabilized the mid trailer, as it would have brought the center of gravity closer in line to the connectors where all the holding on forces were passing through. This way it was rather top heavy, tilting it forward in the direction of travel.
@BallChainGaming2 жыл бұрын
Except that the trailers naturally stabilize the forward/aft axis, and the deployed runway would have torn itself apart against the rocks.
@Splitsie2 жыл бұрын
Yup, capac ignored how easily the support wheels on the runway get caught in the crags and are torn off. Deploying the runway for the whole descent was not an option

Hi Splitsie, what about placing an adjustable four rotor drill arm on the front with rotors that can use hinges to collapse in around the shaft and pistons to extend the shaft. By placing it under the cockpit the rig could dig tunnels for itself to pass under rough terrain while the collapsed version could retract inside the rig. It could also serve as a normal drill when collapsed. Like a more versatile version of the asteroid mining drill. I think an underground section to the journey would be really fun. Hinges to add top and bottom flaps to the plain wings would also allow for rapid deceleration in dog fights and slower landing with more lift.
@SleezyRider8835 күн бұрын
This is a sick concept. Massive gigantic all terrain vehicle with all the fixins' I assume the middle section of the vehicle is like unfolding solar panels so it can recharge the batteries without needing outside fuel source. Watching this shit got me wanting to reinstall and try to figure out how to build something similar just to mess around.

@Splitsie2 жыл бұрын
I think most of the streamers would hate it. During the time penalty your numbers would tank because you're not doing anything much to keep the audience engaged so they'll switch to someone else or switch off entirely in a fair few cases 😔

Why do people who replace a laugh with the same sound one makes when blowing a soaking wet, blood filled, snot garble out of their nose, do that? I mean, they have to do it on purpose. It's not involuntary. They trained themselves to do it. Babies do not come out of the womb that way. Why not just open one's mouth and let out an actual laugh? It is much less offensive to the ears. I've spent a lot of time pondering this. I believe the practice came from situations where people would try to hold back their laugh. Perhaps, in a library or in the principle's office. However, it should not replace one's laugh full time. That sound's is no substitute for an actual laugh. Let your friend know, I disapprove strongly. His laughter sounds exactly like the guy in the cubical next to mine blowing snot in the morning. Even if he were to replace it with Popeye's "yuck yuck yuck", it would be less out of place.
