He had time to finish school , work for 7 years, even get married and have kids before you were even born, that is freaky. To me it depends at what age you meet, sure if you met your husband at 20 and he was 47 that’s gives you most likely many happy healthy years in most cases but when she is in her close 40’s he is in his 70's whole different ball game for her in a couple of years when health problems most likely start kicking in. She might have to go through things most women her age would not have to deal with, she will be healthy and active while he will not be able to keep up, hopefully he lives to be healthy for many years to come but eventually he will become a burden. @@MrRamman04 actually, there’s young men, with underlying health problems, due to not taking care of themselves. Eating poorly, and not being active. My gym teacher was in his 60’s, and in great shape. Like some of them “young guys” in high school couldn’t even keep up with him, who cares if he’s way older, it looks like he also takes care of himself, and she probably keeps him on check healthy wise.

Wow 34 years!! I was in an age gap relationship of 30 years. I ended up being his caregiver for 15 years. We had two years of bliss and it all went downhill from there but I loved him more than any other man and sacrificed so much. We had the most amazing connection and we were so alike. Exactly! It’s all good to say ‘age is just a number’, but people are glossing over the fact that the elder partner will likely pass MUCH sooner than the younger partner. That’s without considering the years of decreasing health due to ageing. The younger partner effectively becomes a carer and then widow. It’s not all rainbows and roses.

This is so great! It just makes me like you more. My favorite uncle is 25 years older than my aunt and their marriage has been a blessing to the family. I’ve been so lucky to have had their influence in my life. He’s a “white guy” and she’s Latina, but on a soul level, they are the same person! @@Ena48145 Exactly!! If women r weak, they let men dictate their thinking and lives. Donnie is a great guy, but obviously a bit of a dirty old man to take on someone 34 years younger. That’s Grandchildren age gap. I only accept men like him more cause he’s genuinely a good guy, Don’t think older women aren’t doing this. Like, in a big city, and u see it often, but it’s clear Donny isn’t the marrying type. He’s only doing it cause he’s getting on in age, and pressure from his gf, who gave him an ultimatum virtually. He can tell she’s had enough and wants the ring, but her way. She’s most likely using him for the lifestyle, just as he is using her for her youth. It’s a trade off. Is it right? Not really. He passed 10 years earlier than her. So, it is what it is. We’re all not going to be exactly the same. As long as they r genuinely happy, and not really using each other. Then perhaps they tapped into a deeper connection. If the relationship is a very respectful one, then that’s what matters most anyway. The divorce rate is 50% in ages 50 and under. So, obviously younger ppl r marrying for the wrong reasons too. I wish them well nonetheless. Many ppl will be silently appalled, and others don’t really care. Most ppl will think it’s the trade off, money for youth. But Id rather be with a man like Donny, than a 30 year old boring, miserable guy. Donny is at least very energetic and cheerful, and catering, and thoughtful, but do ppl still consider huge age gaps inappropriate? Yes. Many will always think it’s weird and odd. But never think men get away with it and women don’t. Women just don’t flaunt it. Men’s ego flaunt it. They want to prove they can get a younger girl cause it makes them feel younger. They don’t want to age either. A huge amount of women only like younger guys cause they’re more lively, playful, and energetic, not to mention more stamina in bed. Age is definitely just a number. When I was your age, my boss was just like Donnie. Fit, handsome, kind, generous, financially free, and hard working. We hugged once at his company Christmas party and Sparks flew. I think he was unsure if I was unsure, but I wasn't. I should have went for it... Anyways, cheers to a beautiful and happy life together!!!

I’ve been both. Married to my husband with 21 years difference, always said age is nothing after 22 years it did become something but I still cared for him, he passed away. Next man was 17 years younger it was a mess, he was so immature. It just depends on the people. Money doesn’t hurt tho because even people the same age have huge problems due to financial problems.

My husband and I have 17 years age difference. He had 2 kids from first marriage (wife passed away). His son was only 5 years younger than I. and daughter 10 years my junior. Both were in their teens. I adopted his daughter, when she was 15. I don't think anyone thought it would work. 43 years later, and 4 more kids, we are still together. So you go girl, and don't give a flip to anyone who is negative.

Donnie looks his age, but good for his age. That’s what men look like when they take care of themselves. My friends father looks like Donnie and he’s same age. Most men don’t age well and go bald early. Donny seems like a very nice, easy going guy, but hes rich tho. Most women marry older men cause they have money. Most older women marry younger men cause they r fun and energetic. Older women marry for fun. Older men marry to have children. Most younger women marry older men for money security. If Donny had average money, I’m sure she wouldn’t marry him.

As long as you truly love each other, that's what matters. But age will matter as he starts having health issues but stick together and you'll get through it. I dated an older man for a while and the longer I knew him the more I realized we had a big generation gap. We hung out with his friends which were much older and I didn't have anything in common with them. I was still young enough to marry again but he didn't want to, just wanted to remain the same in other words no commitment. I realized my life was important and what I wanted was also so I decided to end it after 3 years. I hope you both make it. It's hard but as long as you both agree on things , it will be fine. I remember people judging me because my husband is 10 years older than me. I would constantly argue that age is just a number when you are in love. I am more convinced of my arguments that went on for years. I been with my husband for 14 years and don't regret a thing. We learn from each other every single time and enjoy time more than ever. Sometimes we thing that the the dating episode is the best, honestly the best time of a relationship is when you get to know each other more with time. My husbands parents also had a huge age gap. His dad was 72 and mom was early 30s when he was born. Downside is, his dad passed away 12 years later. It's not fair to the kids to have that much of an age gap, and not fair to the younger spouse when they're left to raise kids alone.

You two look very happy ! My parents were 11 yrs apart.. Everyone thought my dad was 65 when he was 85. That wasn't the problem. The problem was that after a certain age my dad didn't want to do much and my mother did. And if you have children it is an issue because # 1 having a child is all time consuming and you need a great deal energy every min of the day! One more very important issue that their friends will look at him and say is that your grandfather.. and be prepared that you may have to take care of him.( medically) eventually and have children. It's very difficult. I wish you all the best I just want you to realize what might happen. My dad passed away 97yrs old Good luck I wish you all the best!!

This is so true. I didn’t want to mention this due to possible negativity in this comment section. But it’s truly unfair to the kids. How long will a 70 yr old father live to be there for his children ? Would a 70 yr old father even have the energy to play with his kids ? Don’t even mention the increase in birth defects associated with the fathers advanced paternal age. I don’t think the kids well being is anywhere close to being their first priority.
