I have to agree with Fiona Apple that the impressive thing about the diamond IS the mining! That and how hard they are.

I sure was digging your intro music there brother! Care to share some particulars; guitar, amp? If there had been some vocals I know what brand of mic you'd be using... 😉👍

*"A must-see and idea for you guys."* There's a KZbin Channel: *"The Crystal Collector"* that I watch Occassionally, and like you're talent in Metal Detecting, he has in Crystal and Herkimer Diamonds. You would enjoy his finds, he has done some New York and Arkansas Herkimer digs/rock searches and where he was joffered up some as big as a baseball and bigger. He's sorta "country" and a bit silly, but the guy really knows his Geology. Search: *"The Crystal Collector, Herkimer Diamond Mining, New York"* I hope to see you make this at least an Annual Event, your Viewers would really enjoy watching you guys unearth some giant Herkimer Diamonds and other Crystals and it really offers great possibilities for "Marketing/Advertising/Funding for your Channel with your Viewers on an Annual Event Show" allowing for some creative opportunities to gain additional funding to offset overhead costs and boost earnings for profits. Our Passions are truly a venue for us to experience the Quantum Physics discovered and defined "Universal Laws" and particularly the "Universal Law of Attraction" which is exactly how we create and experience our Reality. It is the Creators Divine Design and Absolute. We can Consciously apply Thoughts and have the truly Rewarding Experiences of the most positive energy flow. A Viewers and Patrons giveaway of a Herkimer Diamond would be an exciting Promotion. You could even make it a 2 day event with all sorts of potential scenarios. Just some thoughts that crossed my mind I thought you might enjoy with possibilities for financial gains. (My Professional Career focus, in the area of Marketing/Advertising/PR, and Sales.) Best wishes for abundant Treasure Finds and Best Wellbeing...

45 years later I still have my Herkimer diamonds. This was some of the toughest rock to crack, especially for a 10 year old. Definitely a memorable trip, it was even raining the day I was there, but still well worth the trip.👍👍👍👍👍 thanks for bringing back the trip in my memory 😃

The first time my family went here, it was after a rain storm. The sun came out and the crystals were glinting in the sun. The rain washed the dust of the surface crystals so we just picked them up off the ground! We found so many crystals that day! No hammer needed. It was the best day we had there. We went a few other times and didn’t get any rain. Didn’t find too much and had to do a lot of hammering. 😎

Great video you two...Brad, it is your passion, dedication, personality and ability to make great videos is why we ALL watch you bro, and of course your child like innocent joy when you find old broken rusty metal things. So, you could be dumpster diving big box stores in Cleveland or vinegaroon hunting in New Mexico and we would watch your videos...ya, I said vinegaroon hunting...hahahaha. Oh btw, found this on the web: "The Herkimer Diamond is a stone of release and relaxation. It helps to clear the mind/body of unconscious fears and repressions, allowing for a complete and total relaxation and expansion of life energy. The Herkimer Diamond can also be helpful to release and remove toxins from the body.".....and who said those gems weren't valuable??

Gemstone hunting is fun, hard work at times, but the rewards even if not monetary are huge. And once in a while, you may come upon a treasure fit to outfit your next or many more trips to find another treasure. Maybe one day plan a trip somewhere in the western states. Montana, Idaho, Arizona, Colorado, Oregon, and California, all have many different gemstones, and some are marketable. Almost every state of the union has some fine quality gemstone, even real diamonds in Arkansas. A man just found a 9 carat there, which means after cutting should be at least a nice 3 carat stone. A Wife sure would like that as a necklace, and a man could do little wrong for a bit. Great Video, liked it as much as searching with a metal detector. Thanks.

That looked like fun! Not only do you get to take your frustrations out but you get baubles too! Diamond Crater State Park in Arkansas has diamonds you can dig for. They are brown diamonds and usually small but every once in a while someone finds a big one. As a matter of fact some guy found a 9 carat stone this week. I've been there a couple times but it was a bust for me. But the rangers tell about a local that put his kids thru college by digging diamonds.

@rockyj27694 жыл бұрын
The mine is within 5 miles of my home and i've never stopped to look for diamonds. If you ever watched the movie congo the diamonds in the cave were Herkimer diamonds. There are many areas in the Herkimer, Little Falls, and Middleville area where they can be found. When I was a youngster we called them Little Falls Diamonds up until they opened the mine near Middleville.

Awesome hunt! I live pretty close too the Arkansas diamond mine. I gotta go there soon! Some of the biggest canary diamonds have been found there. You guys need too take the family there sometime. I know its a long trip but there are so many places you can camp or cabins too rent or mom and pop motels along the way and some good home cooking too! Bring the detectors and fishing poles too as the Ozark mountain trout are awesome! The oldest mountains are there! And table rock lake is the cleanest lake in the area with beautiful campgrounds

Herks are good gems, know people used them instead of diamonds, wonderful color and clarity, my. Friend husband didn't tell her until after the wedding. She loved the idea he got the stone himself and made her rings. Going on 35 years of marriage. Good for you finding those druzy clusters as well. Love the adventure.

I remember peeling tomatoes for my extended family to process into sauces. My dad often planted a paddock of vegies. One year we stopped counting pumpkins when we reached 4000. We had 3 layers of pumpkins in the shearing shed. We sold pumpkins at local markets until we planted the next years pumpkins. I miss the taste of home grown vegies. I do not have dads green thumb, lol. Blessings from Southeastern NSW Australia, Dot

It looks like you had fun finding quartz. I had fun watching you beating on bedrock and boulders with tiny hammers and no chisels. You found some nice pockets. For next time consider not beating the tar out of the rock but instead isolating the pockets, saving them, and exposing them with more careful cutting, etc. Nicely preserved and presented pockets of minerals like these can be beautiful and more valuable than individual crystals. If you had fun though, that's the goal, right?
@Auxius.4 жыл бұрын
Hi dude! Big fan. I'd love to see what you find if you've the right gear! :-) namely a hammer and chisel (point and flat), bigger sledge hammer, crowbar, safety glasses(a rock in the eye ruins everything), a crowbar and gloves :-) its super fun and addicting, and you'll thank yourself in the future with these tools :-D
