If you get the treasure tool Mermaids have a higher chance of finding treasure. Also like others have said you can become friends with an azure dolphin and use it for the social need and to fetch treasure. I think that Banana should have a partner who is a fisherman. Mermaids can "call" more fish to fishing spots too

If you're a mermaid, you can change weather to sunny - no need to get the storm chaser. also you can tell dolphins to fetch you things! Good way to make money is to make food and sell it. I believe there's a recipe using bananas too.

Yeah I actually secretly hid a vault in the wrecked ship on sullani and put 80.000 in there, just to get rid of it a bit faster. Seemed like a perfect place to hide my money haha. The rest I just donate or give as gifts to other sims. But it would still be a nice challenge I think 😂

i know im late as hell but im currently playing with my supersim too and she makes a bunch of money from videos/books etc. i use the SNB mod and i would send money regularly to her ex husband because he is taking care of her kids because they no longer live together. if you dont wanna use a mod, just send money through the "edit household"(?) section. however the mod is much much easier.

I guess he just plays it by here, but here’s what I’ve gathered: 1. No immediate selling (like when u open your inventory, you have to sell it to other sims) 2. No markup on items over $20 I think? 3. Markup on items under $20 reflects quality 4. No selling windows/walls in typical sim fashion for money

Level her fishing and set traps with bait. You’ll get treasure and fish if you let them sit long enough. I have an off-grid family who survives on wooden bathtubs, $50+ fish (which I sell off the table with a markup), and whatever treasure I get out of traps. Bathtubs built the house, but fish cover the bills.

You should have a tropical garden store with the same markup rules as the bananas (every quality increase for the plant equals one markup level) and build a big waterfront off-the-grid cabana for Banana as the end goal

I'll always be baffled by James' gameplay. Things like "I'm not paying $11 for food that would completely fill me up, I'll just eat three apples that I could sell for $5 bucks apiece and only get halfway full." The things he chooses to spend money on and refuses to spend money on never make sense to me. Who buys columns, spandrels, and windows when they don't have a toilet, cooler, stove, or bed? He always keeps it interesting even if it means I'm yelling at the screen most of the time.

Everyone's yelling about how James is yelling instead of immediately resetting the sim. My sims usually take a few minutes and reset themselves so maybe that's what James is waiting for instead of immediately resetting them. I find it hilarious when he screams, I literally laughed so hard I couldn't breathe when he started screaming, So, shut up. It's his game, let him play it the way he wants too. Also, that mermaid animation was so underdone, I'm so disappointed in it and the fact that they made it so easy to find the fruit to turn your sim into one. You'd think there'd be an option where you have to befriend a mermaid after taking the time to find out if they are a mermaid, just for them to turn you into one in some magical way. Like with a sirens kiss or something.

I found a small cheat with the Holiday gnomes that show up. When they show up and you please one so it gets the Halo, place that gnome in your household inventory (in build mode). After the holiday ends go place that gnome out in your yard with good space around him. He will start dropping free, endless seed packet around him in a spiral pattern. A few each day. Free seed packets mean free money. I've never moved from the lot with one so I don't know if it will move to a new lot and still work. I k ow it's not good for this play but I wanted to share what I found.

For your retail lot if you search for the Lice Cold Retail Freezer, you can drag your bananas into it and not have to worry about ringing sims up. They just buy them automatically leaving you free to do other stuff. They're pretty cheap too at $210. Just make sure you buy enough of them and spread them out so that more sims will come. Oh and the inventory is shared with them all. So you only need to drag the bananas into one freezer.

James go to mccc discord page to report your last exception file. You dont even need the mod to report it, drag the file into the page that categories as last exception (LE), they can immediately find the problem, its usually a mod or cc but if its caused by the game they can pass that info to the gurus. You just need to be invited to that discord and then make an account and done, i would invite you but im away from my computer. Hope that helped. 👍

I have a sim who declared his favorite weather as rain and he doesn't ever get tense during storms. He's never shown the slightest fear of thunderstorms except when lightning hits really close to him. In fact I have to fight with him to keep him indoors during violent thunderstorms, because he wants to go out and play in it. And it was free. Might be something to try.
