I don’t mind him missing games early in season I just hate this clok and danger bull saying he miss 2 practices and have not one worry. Just be honest say he taking it really slow and might miss some games why is that so hard for the team! Makes it seems worse by lying about timetable
@LockedOnIslanders

Yeah, being honest about it makes more sense, the truth eventually comes out anyway. I'd rather they take his time for the long term benefit but we'll see what the actual timetable becomes. Thanks for the comment, James. LGI.

right! god forbid anyone in the NHL front offices be honest about anything. the fans spend good money supporting their teams and management cant even be forthcoming about any injury ever!

I think Hodgberg was signed because Sorokin got hurt. Lehner is still out there...What does "Unfit to play" mean?? If there's any team that could get Robin back on track, it's the Islanders. A little off-topic, I hope Roy had some tough words for the players after blowing another game in the 3rd period. I pray he can get these guys to play a full 60.

saw that Robin is available and the Knights are a little ruthless about their players…would like him back if something happened to Sorokin..
@LockedOnIslanders
@LockedOnIslanders Күн бұрын
I don't think we'll see Lehner any time soon although you're right, if any team can help him it would be the Isles. I get the feeling his NHL career may be over, but I don't have any hard facts to back that up and I certainly wish him well. I hope Roy did have some tough words after the collapse against the Rangers. Hogberg was almost certainly signed because of Sorokin's condition but again, Lou wasn't up front with the media and fans about that. Thanks for the comment, David, this was good stuff. LGI.

Man, If we can get Wally playing his absolute best and Tsyplakov playing like he was in his last season in the KHL, Maybe they can find themselves flanking Nelson. I'm aware it's a LOOOOONG shot but, I'd love for that to happen
@LockedOnIslanders

I'd love to see if happen. With Palms kind of set on one side of Nelson, having either of those two things may be enough. Fingers crossed. Thanks for the comment, David. LGI.

anyone who thinks this is going to be a sorokin bounce back vezina type year is deluded ....at best we see him give it a whirl part time this season and hopefully not go in and out onto the IR. back surgery is no joke. i hope that they don't push him too much and honestly best to just let him rest this whole year...and rehab.....this year if they push too fast he's done permanently and will never return to full potential.
@LockedOnIslanders

I agree they should be conservative with his back and give him time to heal. We still don't know how bad the back is or how long ago the surgery was performed (all we know is sometimes between May 1 and Aug 30). Thanks for the comment, foleydvm. LGI.

Gil considering that sorokin has not been in camp or played in any pre season games it's fairly obvious to conclude that he will be out 6 weeks

Six weeks starting when? I think barring a miracle, he misses the start of the season. Probably most of October, but that could change at any time. Thanks for the comment, alexyaybar. LGI.

Hi Gil! Hope you’re well. I know why they kept the Sorro injury from a business perspective. This is beginning to feel uncomfortable with Sorro. Varlomov and Kincaid can carry the load till December I think but without Sorro-not sure if we can make it. Varly is up there. I like Kincaid--lots of experience but if Varly is out-don’t think Kincaid can carry the load that long. I agree Gil--let Sorro come back when he’s 💯 ready. Hopefully we can hang around!! I think Duclair has made our 1st line complete--they were lights out! Typ looked real good I feel. Had hoped Dufor and or Maggio could have made it with Matty and Clutter presumably gone. Lastly--Mayfield will have to face the music with Rempke--that will be ugly. If we’re gonna play that way--expect retaliation--I can’t see Rempke and Carrick ok with what happened. It was an open ice hit but that guy has plenty issues and maybe it wasn’t smart to target Chytil--I don’t know Gil--take care

Frankie I think Hogberg or Kinkaid can be the backup for a month or a little more if need be, but without Sorokin for too long, there could be issues. Thanks for the comment and LGI.

@@LockedOnIslanders he was one of the reasons why I loved the islanders! I watched hockey when I was a baby I still remember in like 74 I was 4 and my grandfather watched the rangers being he was from Manhattan then Brooklyn. So I would watch with him and I fell in love with the game. I’m around 6 and thought it was so cool that the islanders were a team from where I came from and broke my grandfathers heart from then on. Fast forward I got to watch them win four cups and now here we are lol

Good morning team! Gil, Sorokin's health and recovery should be what is most important. Let him miss as much time as he needs to feel 100%. The thing I have the problem with is the lack of information from the Islanders. I don't understand what the big secret is. Maybe our glorious GM has a reason for what he does, or doesn't do. Frustrating is the word that comes to mind. Everyone, have a great day today and enjoy the game tonight. See you all again tomorrow. Until then.. Let's Go Islanders!!
@LockedOnIslanders
@LockedOnIslanders Күн бұрын
When they hide things from the media, they are hiding things from the fans. Word gets out eventually anyway so you may as well be honest and get out front on it. Lou must have his reasons but we don't have to agree with them. I agree, Sorokin's health is paramount. He has a life to live for many years after hockey. Thanks for the comment, Tony. LGI.

Louzer will inform all about 30's status when louzer feels like it. Maybe in between naps or two minutes before season opener. I'm beginning to think top lines should be 13, 14, 11 duclair and 29, 21, 7 tysplakov. Leaving overpaid 44, 27, first round busts 10, 26, 4th line regular 53, 32, 20, and useless 18 to mishmash two sorry bottom two lines out of. And i am sure louzer has the three, five, and seven year deals waiting for soon to be age 33 29 to sign with ntc which will take 29 right thru the heart of painful isle re-build to come. Asset manag'mt is another course louzer failed to master.

Good 🌄 Gil how are you? They shouldn't rush Sorokin back because he might injure himself and be out for 50 games or even the rest of the sesson. Brock Nelson is concentrating on the upcoming coming season, and not his contract. They've got to he secretive knowing the press they'll take things out of context. Barzy, Bo, and Duke 👀 good against The Rangers. HAPPY 🎂 GARRY HOWATT, aka the toy 🐅. He was there from very beginning, had lots and lots of spice. Took on Dave Schultz and did more than hold his own, and could put the puck on the net, too. Yesterday I said that a one time Islander got some advice from his late father. Don't do a job to get it done, do a job to get it right. That was Trots father who told him that, and it stayed with him for the rest of his life. Hear from you later, Gil and LET'S GO ISLANDERS.

SoroKing will be put on long term injury list which will easily get islanders tons of cap space. I don’t want to rush A goalie with back surgery. You need it even a year to recover

Rushing him back would be foolish. If he's out a year, this season looks very different for the Isles. LTIR will gete them cap space but obviously, no Sorokin. A lot of pressure on Varly. Thanks for the comment, Otto. LGI.
