Thank you for your time and posting. Visas are now good for 90 Days. This is exactly what I will do if I decide to retire to VN. I immigrated to Australia in 1989. The plane was delayed four times, then overnight. We went to a hotel at 11 PM, and they woke us up at 4 AM. We went to the airport. The plane wasn't ready. They took us back to the hotel and got a new room. They woke us up at 7 AM. And we flew away to New Zealand, then off to Brisbane. I didn't care, I had nothing else to do, but there were a few people a bit upset. :)

Hi AK, such not a normal clip story but very useful for all travelers. I used to work for an airline so fully understand about the delays of the flight. We - as the staffs also have to face with the nightmare that is the so long delay (with tech issues) and then the H-angry from passengers. Totally agree and the big claps for your appropriate attidude during the delay as well as in flight crisis from other passengers. Don’t blame and pissed off on air crew cause there weren’t their false. “That a normal things happened during the travel/the trip or in our life” 👍. Yep sometimes there is not much we could do so dont make it worse. Safe trip and welcome back to Vietnam!😍🤟✌

Pros to a rough travel day when you make KZbin videos is that you can always turn that bad experience into an interesting video... Everyone has those rough travel days...when I was returning from my very first trip outside the US (to Ireland and France for a summer class in college), the flight from Paris to Chicago was fine, but in Chicago the departure gate for my flight to St. Louis was changed 3 times, the flight was delayed for 4ish hours before we got on the plane and then another 2ish while we sat on the plane. No one in my group was old enough to rent a car (I was 21, and at least at the time you had to be 25 to rent a car), but if we had traveled by car we would have probably gotten back to St. Louis just as quickly as we did on the plane...

I don't fly often, maybe 200 flights in my lifetime, but seem to have these types of problems more often than normal. Worst one was trying to fly home from Venice Italy. Flight was delayed 13 hours because Air Canada only had 1 plane (which broke down), so my wife and I had to sit in Marco Polo airport while they flew another one over from Canada, in one of the worst airports in the EU for traveler's services. No place to charge phones, and we didn't pack any reading material. The seats were all molded hard plastic, and there weren't even any TVs in the waiting area. Fortunately we like each other, so there was wonderful conversation. Then to top it off, the replacement plane (I checked the tail number online) was 25 years old, sounded like a wounded gravel truck, and we immediately flew into a violent thunderstorm. By that point we didn't care anymore. :)

Sounds like an absolute nightmare. Air Asia is the Ryanair of Asia, for sure. Cheap(ish) flights, but terrible customer service and communication. We had this happen once, heading back home to Canada to visit family. It was meant to be a direct flight, but our flight ended up having to land in a different city. Ended up stuck on the plane, on the tarmac for over 3 hours. It was the dead of winter as well. In total, the diversion and waiting ended in us arriving 10/11 hours later. THE WORST. 😵💫😫

Wow! First off, from reading your “headline” I thought you were actually going on some kind of an actual run sponsored by Visa!!😂😂😂. But then I understood what was going on! Travel can show you some real curve balls but like you said, you just have to go with the flow. About 10 years ago I took a trip to Kenya to visit my daughter. Air Asia is the cheapest airlines to take from Thailand to Vietnam, for a reason. Like we Vietnamese always say, cheap shit is spoiled shit. But anyway, thing happens and when it happens, it'd be better to sit back, relax, as a man who works for one of the biggest airlines in South East Asia, I can safely say getting mad at the crew and throwing tantrums wont get you anywhere in situation like this, and I'm glad to see A and K took it like champs. It sucks to see many travelers have to do visa runs like this when our Visa policy is still allowing 30 days, but luckily the congress is meeting in May to consider reissuing the 90 days Visa like pre-covid time. Hopefully it gets passed so people can enjoy their time in our country more freely without having to worry about expiring Visa.
