I won't be able to participate, but here's an idea to anyone who might want it. Imperial knights need retainers, lil dudes on foot to give scale to the big stompy robots. An army that's just big stompy robots takes away the scale, I always wished they had some guardsman sized dummies on foot following them around to show off the scale.

In Epic (the real old version from 80s/early 90s) there was an imperial infantry type called Titan Guard, they were basically carapace armour wearing Imperial Guard with Jump Packs. Their job was to swarm round Titans like a swarm of bees stopping enemy forces (particularly flying troops) getting past void shields etc and cutting through armour to get at the Titan Crew. It's actually a quite reasonable to accept weakness. And would be a cool as fuck unit at 40k scale. Could help protect knights as well as Titans easy enough.

@@mattleak666 that's always been my thought yeah, either them or imperial navy breachers since those were agents of the imperium, but I think you could only take a couple of them when I was looking at it, and it made it sound stupid

@@KamenRiderGreed Fixing 32 factions is an ambitious goal for one competition. HOWEVER! You do not know what the future holds after this one, I’m always running these competitions and “fixing AoS” is definitely in the pipeline!

a generic admech "monstrosity" a la cawl with bizarre weapon options. wild that they present you with the 9th edition codex art and your best option is to kitbash something to proxy a small knight or dunecrawler. that or a sicarian character model.

I've always found it quite a monstrous concept that the Ironstrider mount has some poor bugger bound into it like some sort of gimp/servitor - but I wanna lean into it even more. Maybe I was the admech monster all along...

Oh, for "that model", it's Tau battlesuit infantry. Stealth Suit size, but no jump pack or (obviously) stealth stuff. Has toughness and wounds. Gets to ride a Devilfish. Has stronger gun options, but default is like a Heavy Pulse Rifle; maybe can have a shield and Flamer as a replacement default. Exists to be put on objectives and be good at either stationary long range or stationary short range defensive shooting. Can be led by a Fireblade wearing one of these suits with a cool asf gun which makes it comparible to HQs of many armies with cool asf melee weapons.
