Gotta say man, personally I appreciate your uploads man. It's always interesting to hear what you have to talk about and see how you do your job. If you ever wanted to leave KZbin though, that's your choice man, nothing against it. We know that you just do editing and uploading as a pasttime when you're not on duty. As for the dashcam, again personally, I think it's interesting to see it from your perspective. We get to see the surroundings and mirrors and stuff right with you, like we're in the seat with you. But, again, you do what fits you best, I'd wager it gets annoying to have that headcam all the time whenever you want to talk anyhow. Stay safe Dave Edit: By the way, I'm seriously considering going down that route of working for CFI. It would be a great opportunity to save money and get away from a lot of people for a while, as well as see the country and look for farmland to potentially purchase. How would I go about referring you for that bonus? Do I need your full name / truck no., etc?

From an experienced driver you should do a tug test and look to make sure it's locked. I've dropped a cfi trl once even though I looked to see if it was locked.
@RidingWithDave4 жыл бұрын
So it can not be locked in even after visually inspecting it? If so that’s good to know and I’ll start doing the tug
@austinfortier62734 жыл бұрын
@@RidingWithDave yeah sometimes if you do the visual it'll look locked but not be fully locked Hench why the tug is good. Just food for thought. That's the only trailer I've dropped in my almost 7 years of driving.
@craigj.6513 жыл бұрын
@@austinfortier6273 when the tug test is done are the landing gear supposed to be down?
@austinfortier62733 жыл бұрын
Craig yes they should it should be done before you get out of the truck. If they're a little of the ground like an inch then you'll be fine but you definitely don't want them all the way up incase it isn't locked and you pull out from under the trailer.

Ok. So I have a question...im not a trucker but I always see you others say leave a gap on the landing gear but I can't for the life of me figure out why?
@TomBennett13 жыл бұрын
They are talking about the gap from the legs of the trailer and you have to have the gap in between the trailer so you don't scrape it all up on the road or if it's too low and you are doing to scrape it each time you go over a bump or hill or something uneven. I hope that I answered your question and understand what I mean if you have any other questions please feel free to highlight me and I'll see the notification that you tagged me in your comment.
@ClayBuff3 жыл бұрын
@@TomBennett1 oh. Ok. Thanks. I appreciate the answer
@TomBennett13 жыл бұрын
@@ClayBuff yeah they need to have a wide Gap in-between each trailer leg otherwise it could even end up getting the truck stuck if it is way too low and it raises up the drive axes and if it doesn't get good traction.

is your truck automatic??also are they more expensive than manual transmission trucks???
@TomBennett13 жыл бұрын
No they probably are actually cheaper than the manual because you control the gear that you want to be in instead of jerking around because the automatic don't know what you are trying to do. I personally will never drive an automatic truck again because you get stuck more and you have less control of your truck. Please don't get the automatic it's something that will break long before it's supposed to the manuals are the best safe bet but you need to know how to shift it which once you figure it out it's just second nature.

Sapp brothers it’s for a truckstop based on religious beliefs it’s a smaller one.when u go in there u will never find beer in there.oh and by the way never ever leave ur truck Unattended at us at Brothers they have a reputation from barricade in your truck and making your company pay a fee in order to get it back out like they will put like cement barricades on both ends so you can’t get out and make you pay like a towing fee in order to get your truck back

Dave, not to be nosey but what kind of a salary do you make as a trucker? (im not asking for an exact number) I have looked into it and online they say you make between 35k to 85k a year with the standard rate usually around 52k a year. That doesn't seem to bad. What tests do they make you do on a normal basis? do you have to take a drug test or something like that on a monthly basis or anything like that to work for your company? All my info came from here pretty much: schneiderjobs.com/search-driving-opportunities/details/192716 if you were wondering
@Fezza11874 жыл бұрын
He made a video about all that sort of thing not too long ago called "My honest CFI trucking review"
@RidingWithDave4 жыл бұрын
Yeah I did do a video on what I make and all, but to answer your question, on a rookie salary? Nah nowhere close to 85. Sure with a few years experience and hard work that’s more than possible from people I talk to. I bust my ass and make anywhere from 800-1000 a week. So I mean I’m probably making 40k a year right now honestly. But I’m a rookie. Get my experience, maybe a hazmat endorsement, pull a tanker for the right company, and I could be making A LOT more. First year is never gonna be great, I knew that going into it. I want to get my experience, and continue to move up in the trucking industry for hopefully the big bucks, but you gotta do your time to get there. But yeah my trainer made 94k last year with CFI, then again he has 11 years, makes way more per mile than I do and gets bonuses for graduating students. I know buddies who drive tankers and they make 1500 and more a week working a lot less hours than I do. All depends on what you do, your own personal work ethic, what company you’re with etc. is there money to be made? Yep, but you gotta put your time in first which is what I’m trying to do now. Hope that answers your question.
