Rose is a beautiful melanated woman, so of course, her daughter would also be brown skinned brown and brown skin comes in all shades from lighter borwn to dark brown. From what I've seen from watching this beautiful family for years now, the "native Chinese community" greets dear Rose like a sister and a daughter. People light up with joy when they see her because she is so loving and kind and they give that kindness right back. She is showered with gifts and care and help as she deserves because that's exactly what this beautiful hard working woman puts into her community. She is always a helping hand, a shoulder to lean on, and a provider. Each person that sees sweet little Yue Yue is delighted and wants to hold her and show her affection. This community is filled with so much love for each other. Truly. I don't think those strange remarks about a beautiful baby that is treasured by seemingly every soul around were made by anyone there. It seems those comments were made by some viewers like us who somehow found it appropriate to make such unsettling comments about an adorable innocent precious lovely baby.

It's definitely coming from the family. Asaians have the same issues with believing their proximity to whiteness and lighter skin makess them more attractive. You notice how Rose stays in hot clothes during the summer? I truly think those comments get to her and she tries to not get any darker. Although her family appears really loving and supportive, you can't get away from culture and in that culture, darker skin is not attractive and thus them having no problems commenting on Yue Yue's complexion as if she needs to do something to keep her from getting darker. I really wish she had more family around her because she's not Chinese, ratherva Black African woman living in China.

I breastfed my children until they were 16 months old. Rose breastfeed your baby as long as you and your husband choose. Breast milk is good for babies' nutrition and development. You can still breastfeed as well as introduce foods to your daughter. Most importantly, do what YOU want to do, not what people on the internet suggest to you. Yay! My KZbin niece's hair is long enough to put in a little style! She is sooooo adorable! When I weaned my son, I wanted to make it to a year. I made it to 11 months. With his teeth in, I said the moment he bites, it's over lol and I agree with your husband. Once he was eating a little more than rice cereal, I was ok weaning him. I did baby formula for only a month until he turned 1. Do what works for you and the health of your precious little one.

I understand how weaning is difficult. My only daughter nursed till she was over 3 years old -- it's a big transition and emotionally I wasn't ready when she was only 8 months old. She never drank bottles or used a pacifier so I was her only comfort when she was that little age and she also started talking later than some babies. I firmly believe that when it's meant to happen it's easy and will happen without too much struggle. My baby also started eating solid foods before a year old. It was mainly a comfort thing for her. You are an amazing mother, Rose. ❤❤❤

BEAUTIFUL baby with loving parents! I understand the sadness of weaning a baby. I partially breastfed my daughter until she was 14 months old. Toward the end of breastfeeding our special time was exactly 4:00 am in the morning when I would rock her back to sleep in the rocking chair and then put her back in her crib. I would go back to bed feeling so wonderful. Eventually she stopped waking at 4:00 for her feed and would sleep through until morning. It was so sad but like you I understood she needed to grow and thrive. ❤
