Soap recipe for those interested!😀(All soap making supplies are linked in the video description)🥰 Ingredients: (These are my measurements, you should always put your ingredients into a soap calculator online to ensure accuracy for your specific recipe). 32 oz. tallow 4.34 oz. lye 12.16 oz. water OR milk of your choice (I use sheep milk) 1.5 fl. oz. essential oils (optional) I used cedarwood & wild orange Spray bottle with rubbing alcohol Dried orange peel (optional) 1. Prior to making your soap, freeze your milk in cubes. If you're using water you can skip this step. Weigh tallow and melt it down. You can use a crock pot, double boiler or microwave. Try to keep the tallow at 100F, if it goes over, just allow it to cool to 100F before continuing. 2. Put your milk cubes (or water) in a heat safe bowl (I use glass). Wearing gloves and safety goggles, carefully and slowly pour the lye into the milk (or water) a little at a time. Stir gently. Use a temperature gun to continuously check the temperature of your lye. Continue to stir the lye solution until the temperature stops rising. Don't hover over the bowl as the fumes can be harmful. 3. Carefully pour the lye solution into the tallow. 4. Use an immersion blender to mix the soap. Keep the blender under the mixture so that it doesn't splash you as this can cause chemical burns. The mixture will grow creamy. Mix until it has reached “trace,” the light pudding consistency. 5. Add essential oils (if using) and blend to incorporate. 6. Pour soap into mold, sprinkle dried orange peel if using & spritz the loaf with a little rubbing alcohol & cover with a towel. 7. After 24 hours, remove soap from the mold and slice it into bars. Let cure in an area with good airflow for 4 weeks. Hope you enjoyed this week's video & I hope you all have a beautiful Thanksgiving holiday~🥰

Hi Tina. Wonderful video. Could u plz make your soap recipe copyable? It will save but then I can’t find the durn thing. Weird. Guess I can write it down when I re watch tomorrow! Hope u are able to start your blog after the new year. You have enough to deal with right now. Sure hope Kellen can come. Joe is such a talented and hard worker. You are blessed (and so is he) with your life partner. So happy I happened upon your channel. Fab girl. My youngest is 49 but I’d love to be another Mom to you. I agree that you. Eliminate negative people even (or especially) if they are family. I did when I was about 35. Best thing ever. Hugs for the holidays.

Keep the drywall behind the wood stove location with a heat shield mounted on that wall behind the wood stove. Fire safety is paramount in rural areas, as a fire investigator I have seen many fires caused by wood stoves, improperly installed venting, combustibles to close to the wood stove, chimney fires. Most of those fires and fire deaths caused by wood stoves were preventable and caused by the homeowner carelessness. Ask Marty Rainy.

You might want to reconsider the tongue and groove behind your proposed wood stove and place some tiles or something that is heat resistance and would hold the heat as well. I don't think that wood wall would pass an inspection for wood stoves.

We’re not worried about inspections out here off grid.🤣

@@HomeFreeAlaska sounds good 👍 maybe grab a large outdoor tank for firefighting purposes. That's what we had to do when we lived outside of a fire protection district.

@@cleigh113 we have fire extinguishers in each room. And we’re not outside of a fire protection area. We have a fire department that responds to our area.😊
