He has one more creature after the witch to hunt before the game ends. Oddly enough, the Witch isn't the final boss despite the games name. Though, personally, i wish the devs would come back to update this game and add a new hunt based off of Sleepy Hollow

@@FatalFist I don't think an entirely NEW combat system would be as appealing, but some upgrades to the current combat system would be nice. Like having a small crucifix that you can hold out to undead to make them run away, but it only has a certain amount of charge.

So I know this vid is old and pretty much there are no comments on this vid, but I think I can provide some clarity on a few things in the game. I think the devs almost certainly read or at least partially researched what is called the “Malleus Maleficarum” which is a very old witch-hunting manual dating back to the 1500s. Pretty much everything in this game is laid out in that book. The dead man in the shack with a silver hammer on his pack was almost certainly a fellow witch hunter, as “Malleus Maleficarum” translates to “Hammer of the Witches” and old witch hunters would often carry with them silver hammers. -The werewolf being raised by the witch. Witches would bury black dogs with the dead sisters of their covens, the bodies of the dogs being possessed by demons and raising from the dead as a werewolf upon the first New Moon. -the “sacrificial tree” or “faery tree” was a tree planted by the witch to provide them with protection and was used to sate the appetites of demonic spirits that would come to dwell within the wood. The witch would make a sacrifice, often a stolen infant, and would knock three times on the wood to mock the Holy Trinity (Father, Son, Holy Spirit). This is actually where the term “knock on wood” comes from, as the knocking was done not only to mock God, but also give recognition to the demonic powers with the wood to continue to provide “good luck”. -Lastly, Black Philip. The black goat as you point out is a pretty obvious nod to the movie “The Witch”. Great movie that is probably the most accurate representation of actual witchcraft I’ve ever seen put to film. The goat is a clear metaphor for Satan, “the scapegoat”. In the game it’s pretty obvious that’s what he is as he cannot be killed. There’s a lot more in the game I didn’t touch on but this is REALLY fascinating, and clearly the devs did some major research. I seriously wanna play this game!

For clarification, During the Witch's boss fight, she has an attack where she can charge you down like a demon from hell. She goes in a straight line, and moves faster than your walk speed when doing so. You'll know she's preparing her charge when she briefly stops her song and gives a distorted growl. Best bet is to sprint directly away from her until she stops charging, reloading when she's that close will only slow you down and make you easy to pounce on.

Black Phillip leads you in the direction of the thing you're trying to hunt. It's trying to "sacrifice" you to the huntee...as shown at 11:43. You hit him, he runs in the direction of the witch, you see what the witch is seeing (which is her running along the lake shore to YOU).

I'm betting Black Phillip really does turn out to be the final boss. He keeps stalking you, and he killed that mason guy in the barn as reprisal for killing the tree. Now that you've killed the witch, you have to hunt some newborn demon the witch birthed upon the world, and next you'll probably have to hunt the father, who is undoubtedly the devil or an avatar of his. Which turns out to be Black Phillip.
