The University of Wisconsin has a surgeon that performs surgery for Perry Romberg patients. They add tissue to the area that has shrunk which fills out the face. This brought tears to my eyes. Although I do not have this exact condition, I am a 3 time survivor of head and neck cancer (5th child worldwide diagnosed with a rare cancer subtype in my infancy and young adult years). I do have facial deformities and stunted jaw/face growth on the radiated side and a speech impairment. I can relate to the self image issues, anxiety, kids and even adults staring and being mean. My energy went towards sports and academics. I am now a doctoral student doing research with head and neck cancer patients. Let's make the world a better place because of our rare condition and unique life experiences! Hang in there buddy! You are a smart, kind, and well spoken young man. You will go far in life!

Hey Lukas! I suffer from a rare, incurable condition that affects all connective tissue in the body, called Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. At 16, I needed to have a double mandibular osteotomy with titanium implants put in as well. Seeing your maturity, solid head on your shoulders, and that you're clearly a smart guy (and cute too), I bet everything is going to be A-OK. :) The support of family, friends, medical team, and your online fans, will help you get through it and heal. Even when you have your priorities straight, when you're a teenager, you can't help wondering what people will make of you, so I just wanted you to know I'm rooting for you, and to remind you that whatever happens with the surgery, you're already super just the way you are - the final product already, no alterations needed! Very best wishes for a successful surgery, with quick and complete healing, from Canada. :) God bless!

My living daughter has a very close relationship wit's relationship with her twin on the other side of the veil. She feels her presence and support especially in tough times of her life. The soul tie between identical twins is so it's so uncanny and strong. One is alive on this side of the veil and the other is alive on the other side of the veil in heaven.
