This was wonderful! Some of the spots where you died were comical, which I enjoy, but watching you have to push that skill level to the edge is fun, when you can't afford to "waste" some of x lives, exploring and figuring out the pixel-perfect stunts some creator thought would make a simple level. 😊 Seeing you have to anticipate what's coming, and use what you know, because wrong means starting over, is a lot of fun! I will hope you please continue to do this challenge, at least some of the time; I'd hate for you to burn out on it, of course, and some levels just demand doing it again, maybe again AND again, and saying "NO, I beat this!"

Two advantages to the 1-life-only challenge... 1. No 1up farming to do. 2. No coin management required.

For now we could do "easy mode" with like 3 chances. No matter the 1ups, 3 deaths and done. It gives some wiggle room and imagine dropping to last chance around level 15. That would be super tense, because suddenly you lost your safety net. Also that does reduce the RNG factor of easy level killing you in a wierd way and thus killing the run instantly

as far as why mashing the botton doesn't work for hitting a particular frame - let's say you can mash a button 5 times in 1 second (pretty fast) in a game that is 60fps. this means that you will press the button once every 12 frames. your chances of hitting the right frame is 1/12. you have better odds if you try to time it.

You'd need to be SUPER lucky in order to get through this challenge. Skill might come into play, but you'd need to be god tier. Thinking back to all your old videos, I do remember you trying something similar, but you went down to 1 life and gathered 1-ups over the course of the challenge. And even that you had difficulty with.

For practise and stamina purposes I think you could start with trying to finish the challenge with 100 lives first even if you die a few trying to recover. This would be phase 1 of this challenge and phase 2 the deathless one.

Challenge idea: expert, but no net deaths. Meaning, it's ok to die as long as you get a 1 up. That gives you a max of 3 shots per level, but you must abort if you don't get 1Ups.

This challenge is really fun. Maybe a bit hard to complete tho. If we consider that an average of 3 out of 10 smm1 levels are trolly, and that a single troll = death, your chances of success are statistically .. I don't know how much, but pretty low (who could do the math here?). Anyways that's the promise of a new crazy long adventure !

70% success rate per every level for 16 levels is 11.2% I'd have to do more math on the amount of expert levels he's one shot vs died on to see his actual success rate, but 70% feels pretty high. 50% success rate is 8%, so winning every 13th attempt or so. If he does have a 50% success rate, that's not too bad!

I think the spike hitboxes in Mario maker 2 is rotated 90 degrees compared to Mario maker 1. Like developers accidentally rotated spikes while making mm2 and didn't notice lol
