You have just arrived at the best country to travel to. Amazing food, people and the only multi-cultural hub in Southeast Asia. You got to visit the islands too. Perhentian, Kapas, etc. White sands turquoise seas.

My husband and I stayed in KL for two nights before heading to Thailand in late November. I was surprised how many palm trees there were. Absolutely beautiful. Chinatown was good, we did the Batu Caves and stayed right beside the Petronas Towers. Looking forward to seeing what you get up to in KL. Safe travels.

1 significant thing that makes Malaysia stands out compare to any other Asian countries is that you won't be cheated or scammed in any way... people here won't chase you for money.. you can go to any of our neighboring countries, im 100% sure you will be scammed in many ways if you are not prepared...

Please visit Johor in the southern part of Malaysia. There are varieties of southern food like Laksa Johor, Mee Rebus Stulang, Roti Kacang Pool, Otak Otak, Mee Bandung Muar & lots more. You can also visit beautiful beaches such as Pulau Rawa, Desaru, Telok Penyabung. Other places recommended to visit in Johor are Forest City, Puteri Harbours, Muar, Mersing.

Welcome to Malaysia!!! Most tourists visit only on the west coast of Malaysia, like Penang, Ipoh, Langkawi and Melaka. They don't know what they are missing on the east coast. Come visit Pahang, Terengganu and Kelantan. There are more places to visit, more food to explore and more people to meet. There are beautiful beaches and islands, like Kapas, Redang and Perhentian Islands, beautiful and serene Kenyir Lake, Cameron Highlands and National Park. Enjoy your stay in Malaysia. Make a full use of your 90-day visa.

I've lived in Japan for 30 years. Although not as bad as Southeast Asia, it can get hot in summer and rain quite a bit. Rain jackets are pretty useless in hot, humid weather. You'll sweat like a pig inside and be soaked anyway due to the humidity, so you don't see people use them here except for when hiking. Umbrellas are the most popular. No matter what time of year it is, I never leave my house without a foldable umbrella.

Instead of a fancy Indian spot in the touristy neighborhood, try to find the local "Indian", what they call "Mamak" cuisine or "Nasi Khandar". If you decide to go back to the Central Market, try Restoran Yusoof Dan Zakhir - so good.

Been here for two weeks with my Malaysian wife. Great video work. Really captured some of the vibe. Indian is good (you can get tikkas anywhere) but you gotta try proper Malaysian food like char kuey teow, roti chanai, nasi kandar, the list goes on. You won't have much fun on the islands due to monsoon. We had a great but grey experience on Pangkor Laut. Deffs check out Malacca, Ipoh and Penang. Oh, if you see any Nonya also known as Peranakan food - go for it! Enjoy!

Hahahaha i know which KTM station you guys came out of cos that was near the hotel I stayed at when I was in KL (near the Petronas towers)…F1 car is there as Petronas is a sponsor of the Mercedes AMG F1 team…they used to have events in the central atrium of the KLCC shopping centre in the Petronas Towers (I was there in 2016 for the GP, which unfortunately no longer on the calendar). The token system that they have for their metro system weirded me out when i got a token for it for the first time 😂

It’s raining season over here in Southeast Asia and is reported to expect showers throughout the whole Chinese New Year! Stay indoors and warm guys! Fellow Singaporean here and heard you guys are swinging by the city! If the opportunity comes, try to head to Albert Centre Food Market (Closes around 3+) at Bugis area as there are relatively more food options at affordable prices ($6+/-). Maybe after that you could head to Ah Chew Desserts ($ 6+/-) just a 15 mins walk away to get Tia’s dessert fix :). It’s really just the atmosphere around Bugis that still retains the Singaporean vibe IMO. Oh yes, bring an umbrella! :) Cheers, Aloysius

KL is a great place with tonnes to see and a zillion places to eat. To explore some more of Malaysia take the train to Butterworth. The trainstation is right at the pier for the ferry to Penang. Penang is renowned for its food. So fitting for foodies like you. It also has a great old inner city. Loaded with restaurants, bars and French style pastry shops. But the whole of Malaysia offers great food. Try the Nasi Kandar. My favourite. Taking the train in Malaysia is relatively cheap. Also a great way to make your way to Singapore. I was in Malaysia and Singapore late last year. Malaysia was fun and affordable. Singapore was also fun but beyond expensive. Let us know what your experience was.
