Dan, my husband went to pick up a prescription today and they said it will be $64.00. He asked, "doesn't my insurance cover that ? " She said only $7.00. He then asked if they had a generic version. She went and talked to the pharmacist and he came over and said how about $32.00? Would that be O.K.? So he gave him the 32 bucks and left. This was a pharmacy inside of a department store and they were down to only the pharmacist and 1 other employee. But like you said it doesn't hurt to ask. 😊

I had an actual electric Fiat back in the early eighties and there was a short circuit in it. When I turned off the key it should have shut off the car and it didn't..so it kept pumping fuel onto the hot engine that also was where the spare tire was bolted. That was quite the fire and black cloud😢

Hey Dan, former WF banker here. Mis-keyed checks are actually pretty easy to correct, since both the claiming bank and the customer's "home bank" have copies of the check. Takes a couple of days, and usually no overdraft charges. It's usually the smaller banks/credit unions that are the guilty party, as they're still manually keying in checks or they can't afford good software. HOWEVER: If the guy wrote "Four thousand and no/100s" in the dollar amount line and then wrote "$400.00" in the number box (not precise terminology here, I know), both banks will agree that the charge is $4,000 and then it's a world of hurt.

I have no more truck payments. It was a lease buyout with only 20K miles on it. I wrote the entire purchase amount off as a qualified business expense and bought it for almost half off of the original sticker price. Why would anyone want to buy a new vehicle that immeduately drops in value? My truck makes money for my landscaping business and the miles are written off.

Was watching an episode of Price is Right today and they had EVHB vehicles. I remember Toyota stated earlier this year they were not committing full EV as it was not practical at this time. If they want to move a car the payment will be low but the residual will be high .Honestly, if you're looking at- let's say $75,000+ for a vehicle and you badly wreck it the first year or two- even if it's not your fault- you now own an expensive paperweight. Just a couple of years ago at about 5:20 a.m., I was heading to work- a medical center, and got hit in a semi-rural area by somebody who was new to the area- programming his GPS for a new job. He hit me in the driver's door and my back seat pillar in an intersection at 50+ mph in a large Nissan SUV. $30,000 later they fix the car. Thank God I leased it and didn't own it.

Lease was up on my wife's 2021 low mileage Mazda CX-30 last month - which she loved. We chose to pay cash at the lease-end contract price for the car. After doing diligent market research before lease end, this car was on average, over $4500 less expensive then the same exact car model in our area with much higher mileage. Also, who really knows how other owner's take care of their vehicles. Used "Out The Door" pricing - title, tax & tag - NO additional dealer add-ons.

Investments for me are Art of course along with physical Gold and Silver because fiat currency is losing more of its value every year now and I don't want to be sitting on cash when the value goes to zero and I know that you can't take it with you, so take a good vacation every year to top things off. I also promote art as well, like Canadian art and artists because if they are going to put something on their walls it should be art with investment potential or with auction history.

How many more people are going to screw around on their regular 8-hour shift so they have to have overtime and pay no taxes on it? They used to do that all the time 20 years ago when I worked for the government. They would stock files in a drawer that didn't go into their production count so that they could claim they needed overtime...only to pull out these files to count on Saturday. Several people eventually got caught doing that and it shut down almost everyone else's overtime. And that's back when people used to want to work a lot more than they do now. If you don't hire people with high integrity and you don't have good managers this is going to be a fiasco😢
