We're avoiding the cold and heading south of the border for our our 4th winter of life on the road in Baja, Mexico but this year we're visiting the less known wine region of Baja California in a town called Valle De Guadalupe. Join us as we cross the border in Tecate and spend our first nights in Mexico in the wine country of Baja.

18:45 I hear some pans need milling to sit flush. If I was me, I might rub the mate surface on a flat concrete sidewalk. . This roughens the flange so the gasket can grab into it, plus the figure '8' milling pattern should reduce high spots.

I live in TJ. I love Guadalupe. Everytime i go, its a brand new adventure. Tri the white wine at Magoni winery, its about 15-20 bucks and its sooooo good. You can order a plate of cheeses too! They also have this huge tree which is awesome to drink during the sunny days

Great video. We are getting a late start this year and our first stop is Valle de Guadalupe. We will be there in in a couple of weeks. Can't wait to get down to Bahía Concepción. Hope to see you down there. Sounds like you will be a few weeks ahead of us.

Thanks for the kind words Jeff! From the people we’ve spoken to down here, both locals and visitors, it’s been a slow start to the Baja season. We’re down in Bahia de Conception now and will likely be here another week or so before heading further south. Safe travels when y’all head south! Enjoy and thanks for watching.

15:16 That level of occupancy would be just about our maximum population limits for a pay-camp. . We built our ExpeditionVehicle to boondock exclusively. Over two decades full-time live-aboard, not once in a pay-camp.

I recall you had troubles with your rear axle last year. Hopefully you have that all figured out now. I'm considering A 3 stage with UV filtration system but space is so darn tight. At least I have my new head gaskets and other things done. I presume you guys are using the buddy system through Mexico, lots do. Have a great trip and keep in mind, others may want some fine wine too....

Thankfully all the axle issues were on our ram 3500. This ram 5500 has been rock solid. We were doing the buddy system for this first stop but unfortunately we had to move ahead of our buddies. We’ll explain more in our next video. Thanks for watching and commenting

CORRECTION!! That place is called Baja California, Sur or Norte, I don't understand why people omit the California part, YOU live in Alta California as it was the same place before they were separated. Learning HISTORY is a powerful thing to understand Colonization!! So please, call it with its proper name. Thank you.
@thecumminscamper

That’s quite the mouthful to relay every time I want to say where we are. Baja California Sur/Norte. The odds I get the words or location correct coming out of my mouth while talking to the camera and thinking about what I want to say next is almost zero. Additionally when you call it Baja California people who aren’t as knowledgeable as you, think it’s actually in California, not in Mexico

@@thecumminscamper OK, what I'm trying to tell you is that calling it that way is offensive to US Mexicans, that is the name of that place you are in, why change it to YOUR own convenience? Anyway take my advice or leave it, I'm just trying to let you know the reality of things in Mexico. I don't think it's hard to say Baja California. 🙄

What brand name grid heater delete is that ? Any reason why you chose that over banks? Thanks !
@thecumminscamper
@thecumminscamper 5 күн бұрын
The grid heater delete and plenum are from Pusher Intakes. I chose this one over the banks kit because the Banks Kit still requires an EGR cover plate and the butterfly device that’s at the bottom of the intake horn. I’d already removed the butterfly device and didn’t have an EGR plate so this kit covered need those items with no additional cost. I believe there’s a banks intake for like to 08-12s that would work and doesn’t require the EGR plate. Pusher Intakes is a small company out of Florida and I like supporting small businesses as long as the product is comparable

Not sure why you couldn't park on the US side to walk across and get your fmms. It's nothing but giant parking lots. If you drive through first, you can usually take your first or second right turn and find street parking pretty close.

Tecate is way to small of a crossing,dont know who recommended you with an rv,not only that but it dumps you right in to downtown Tecate, don't send rvs
@thecumminscamper
@thecumminscamper 2 күн бұрын
I agree it’s too small for RVs. Mexicali is the superior rv entry but I was opposed to crossing in Mexicali and following across the Mexico/US border on the Mexico side in order to get over to Valle De Guadalupe for safety reasons. I was also opposed to crossing in TJ for safety reasons. Tecate however is a straight shot down to Valle De Guadalupe. Was it perfect, no but was it practical in some sense, for us and our trip, yes

Stay where you’re at. With your attitude, CA is a better place. With your logic, you probably think all Mexican is the same and Panda Express is real Chinese food. Stay in your red state while all the blue states support you. Facts!
