Few things to note about the fight with Homelander; Soldier Boy is very clearly drained from his little nuclear chest blast; thats a.) why it takes so long for him to charge up a second time and b.) why he seems like he's really struggling as the fight drags on. And even then he rocks him a bit at the start.

A big reason why Annie didn’t expose Homelander already is because you need a certain level of influence on the popularity polls with their audience to be taken seriously. If she were to try to expose him from the get-go Vaught could spin any narrative to make her look like she’s either crazy or on drugs. Now that she’s been playing the game for a while and has built a reputation now she has a big enough audience that will believe anything she says. And now if she randomly dies people will actually start to believe her conspiracies instead of them thinking it was an overdose like with supersonic

Yes, Vought would give Compound V to babies, because it agrees with them better, but in Season 2 episode 6 Vought was trying to make Compound V more tolerable for adults. Plus, Zoe is still a child, so it may work on her, although the side effects are obviously painful.

There are multiple reasons Annie didn’t quit and expose homelander sooner. One of those reasons she actually mentions before quitting. She had finally built up enough clout for her to make a large impact. She had finally cemented herself as America’s best girl so if it’s her word vs Vought’s she now has a fighting chance. Another reason is because she has been trained and conditioned since she was born to be a hero in the seven. That position that she has runs so deep for her. Another reason is that by her being on the inside she’s extremely valuable for the boys. Dont forget the only reason compound V got exposed is because she was on the inside. She was also vital to discovering soldier boy and outting stormfront. She is a huge asset being able to work from inside Vought. Lastly, her exposing homelander puts her life at risk because if Homelander goes after her she stands no chance
