Күн бұрын

We spent two full days doing various boat tasks aboard PIVOT. It's always a balancing act between taking care of boat projects and keeping our pace traveling along the Great Loop. Our list was long, but we went into the time spent at the marina with the determination to complete our list.
Thanks for watching!
Cheers from the Loop,
Jennifer and Elliot

ABOUT US
Hi! We are high school sweethearts from Atlanta, Georgia who decided to take a year off to travel around the world. Together we decided to create vlogs for our journey as a fun way to remember it. On September 15, 2019, we left Atlanta with 3 bags, 2 one-way tickets, and 1 goal of traveling for a whole year. Little did we know, 6 months later we would find ourselves in a nationwide lockdown in India. After spending 5 months in India, we came back to the United States and decided to purchase a 34’ Trawler, dive headfirst into boat life, and kick-off America’s Great Loop.
The good, the bad, the ugly - and most importantly, the real and real funny. We’re not here to tell you “how it’s done.”, just how we’ve done it. And that whatever it is that’s calling you - the way you’ll do it is much more attainable than it may seem.
Thank you for following us along our journey!

a tip with epoxy and fiberglass. Put saran wrap down when finished. You can smooth out the surface. Once dry the saran wrap will pull up and have a smooth surface. a lot less sanding.

Just a tip. Your teakwood on handrails etc are so easy to sand down with a palm sander. Sand with 80 grit and then 120 grit. Instead of using varnish just wipe it down with boiled linseed oil (BLO). No mess and you can just wipe on other coats when needed. I have the exact same boat and got tired of varnishing. I finally went to BLO and it was a life changer. Safe travels and enjoying your videos from the Chesapeake Bay!

So how many boat cards do you think you'll need for a full loop? What do your cards look like?
@SchoandJo

I’d have at least a few hundred! It’s nice to have more than you need so you don’t worry about it. Ours has Pivot on one side and then Jenn, Ollie, and myself on the other. A lot of cards have an empty space for details though.

I'm a new subscriber to your Channel and very pleased that I was here for what seems to be a watershed moment. The (Non-Ironic) introduction of "Chizzy" (or is it "Chiss-y") the Badly Abused Carpenters WOOD CHISEL you used to pry a broken metal fitting out of a Fiberglass Deck as the "Right Tool for the job!!!" LOL every handyman has that "Multi-purpose, Go Anywhere, get out of Jail Free Card" of a tool that you employ in every single way but for which it was intended. Haha. "Chizzy" (sorry, I'm calling it) I can't help but feel has a wonderful potential as New Crew! It wouldn't take much to Anthromorphize him (sorry I'm calling his gender too) not sure exactly how, maybe make him a little cape or something, try talking to him, asking him certain loaded questions, then put the camera on him I'm & wait for a response Ask him who he thinks makes a better telephone Apple or Samsung? Ask him if he prefers Korean or Thai Cuisine, or keep it reasonably topical, ask whose going to win the World Cup? Also seeing as they would understand roughly an equal amount of English, it only seems natural to pair Chizzy & Ollie together, you can even spin them off into thier own sub series "The Adventures of Ozzy and Chizzy"! I can see it now ! "Oh no Ozzy Jo has fallen into the water! Go get help turn camera to Ozzy, "Ozzy" does nothing!!! Oh no "Chizzy" Jo had fallen in into the water! Go get help, turn camera back to an "Empty" seat "Chizzy" has already left!!! It pretty much writes itself. Also, you can pick up those Cheap old Chinese mass produced carpenters wood chisels 200 + in a Box at any flea market in the southern states for $20 a pop. If you do so you can try leaving them in the Box on your deck for a week or two, let the Sun and Rain get at them so they can get a nice Veneer of rust, once rusted, remove from box, hit them with a hammer a few times and VOILA! Now you have 200 odd "Chizzy, the Official Piviot Mascot!!!" Collectors Memorabilia Chachki you can collect (more importantly $ELL) on eBay for only $29.95 a pop! No.... Oh well just an idea, you guys got to do you! Welcome to Canada if you get to Toronto drop me a line would be happy to recommend a couple of dozen places from fun areas of town as well as restaurants & Little Jazz Bar's, that type of thing. Wishing you continued success, & Pls pet Ollie 4 me! Cheers.
