I’m constantly amazed how well you two work together. When working on the boards, I can’t remember what Greg was doing, but when he picked up one and walked back to the saw, Katie would flip the next board, knock off anything that was stuck, and get back in time to catch the board as it came through the saw. Wish I could describe it better! It’s that neither of you stand around while the other is working, you do something productive toward the job. I don’t know if you two argue behind the camera, but I bet it isn’t often. You’re like a well oiled machine that occasionally needs a drop or two of oil occasionally so it can continue to work and do its job. Always love the videos each week - it’s the highlight of my day! 😊

A suggestion, take some 6mm vapour barrier, wrap 3 sides of your new pole barn, and put your saw, and other wood working tools in it, also have a space for your tractor to back into. That building has so much potential. Put your generator on a skid and you can move it around as needed with the tractor

You should enclose that structure on the neighboring property you bought. With barn doors and a concrete floor it would be a great garage and dry storage area so your tractor and equipment aren't out in the snow.

I was someone who worked with wood, both veneer and solid. The machines take a beating when they're cold, blades are brittle, parts wear out in weird places. Next project should be either enclosing that huge shed or building a workshop with some kind of heat. Tools, machinery are too expensive to keep replacing. You two have done so much in spite of hassles with water, weather. Keep warm, have fun, "if it's not fun, stop doing it".

You are in a good place to live because you have medium amount of snow So grading the snow is possible but not where i live in Quebec. Last winter not withstanding the 3 feet of snow that melted in January we finished the winter with four feet of snow on the ground .So here the snow blower is the tool to have.

Katie you see how much snow you are carrying in front of your back blade? Take your top link in a little bit and the snow will start rolling out of the blade. If you put a level front bottom of blade to the top. The top should be closer to the tractor than the bottom.

Use some scrap lumber and make some "Feather Boards". Attach a set to the top of your router fence, one on the infeed side and the other on the outfeed side. This will help keep boards in contact with router table. Then as you push your boards all you must do is keep boards in contact with router fence.

You guys are killin it. Katie, you’re an amazing, hard working wife! Love how you caught the width mistake and prevented a disaster. Greg, when it’s cold, everything, including yourself starts breaking down and harder/slower to get things done. Your lumber is frozen, which is why you’re getting poor results. You could view it like extra “character”. 😂 Thanks for putting out such great content!

For your shavings, here's a suggestion. Get some tall construction grade trash bags and duct tape the opening to the white elbow so you don't miss any, and the chickens can have it for bedding. I know that's what you were trying to do with the bucket. If that's not feasible. Maybe get an old pillow case and make a hole in the closed end just big enough for the white elbow and duct tape it to it and put the other end in the bucket to contain the shavings from going everywhere.
