That's actually a huge turnoff to me and if my local store does that to me, I'll shop it off ebay or an out of state store. Online dating is a nightmare waiting to happen. Too many criminals. Normal people don't do everything online. Just those that have been programmed into doing it. I have a house full of books, I kid you not. If there is an online book, I will print it before reading it. If I can't print it isn't important enough to read. I buy approx. 30 books a month. Sometimes more, sometimes less. I easily read 15 to 20 books a month, sometimes more, never less. I'm also going old school with cassette tapes. 😊 Information is only good if it cannot be corrupted.

True , I don’t carry a iPhone with me …I didn’t work for about seven years starting in 2013 … when I finally went looking for a job not too long ago they said they now REQUIRE me to have a phone (I do construction so I don’t know why on earth is a smart phone now needed …) turns out they want to access you 24-7 by texting you …I told them no way , after I’m done working for the day I don’t give a damn about the job anymore and I don’t want to be texted or bothered . Apparently they discovered what happened their was a file with code in it that read nothing it had nothing but zeroes in it in the new software update and since the crowdstrike softwares job is to protect the computer from anything harmful it tried opening the file but when it found the file had nothing in it and couldn’t comprehend why it didn’t know what to do so in order to defend itself as it was designed to do it shut down causing the outage

Now, because I live in FL where it stays hot, I have solar panels, batteries and an automotive cooling fan that will make you feel like you are in a wind tunnel! 😊 Ice machine, generator, rain barrels! , propane, a washing machine that will run off solar. A mean barbque/smoker grill that runs on charcoal and is big enough to bake a 16" pizza!

But the people who are using Crowstrike partly do it to cut staff. Where I work we saw the failure happening and found a fix and we opened up at 8am at 100%, but we have a staff.

Some of my friends were stuck down in Florida when this happened. there was no rental cars nowhere they literally went on Facebook bought a nice older $4,000 minivan and drove backup to Ohio and then put the van back for sale online there was another family stranded that needed to go to Tennessee and they pitched in and covered fuel expenses while they all carpooled😏 smart friend not only did they save a ton of money they helped another family and got free gas. I care much less about people in airports than patients in hospitals. How is this affecting medical care? I've worked in hospitals. Almost everything is unfortunately on computer. Do nurses even know which patients get which meds? The Karen at the airport who is so outraged about MONEY should consider how much worse some people are facing.

I had a full set of all the different military paper forms needed to work without computers, the hospital had them well somewhere, but no one really knew where and the majority of the medical staff didn't really know how to use them. A few of the older staff did, as well as those of us who did the majority of our careers with the Marines and/or expeditionary medicine, it was a real crap show. Thankfully the crappy system came back online a few hours later, but it just showed me and a few others that the final nails were already in the coffin of military medicine. There are a few hospitals that take this kind of outage seriously, but most of them don't, not even in the military.

This is called AUTOMATION! Like I've always said as a IT Professional, companies better put their manual processes as a backup in place to serve their customers. And make sure you hire people to serve those customers. Crowd Strike provided the issue, but the company is responsible for the delivery of service, no matter what the issue. It will happen again, and we will see who takes the corrective action and who does nothing. Sorry to see customers have to go through this!

We already know that. Those of us that are paying attention do. In the EU there are certain chemicals you can't put in food, countries even ban certain chemicals. The good ol US of A allows nearly all of them because who cares if they make people sick.

In restaurants, you pay AFTER you have been served food. In hospitals, you pay AFTER you get the bill on what was done to you. In hotels, you pay AFTER you have stayed for the night. Why do we pre-pay for flights? We should be allowed to pay a non-refundable fee for the reservation, and AFTER making it to the destination, the rest is charged. Bad weather? No problem! Computer glitch? No problem! Seriously how did we allow the system to be designed so that big corps never lose?

Has nothing to do whether you have a cellphone or not. Sadly, it’s on the airlines. His and your informations are in the airline’s website and if they can’t access that information or their computer system is frozen, you’re not going anywhere. A lot of companies were affected but there were a few airlines who do not have crowdstrike as their cybersecurity and were okay. I definitely don’t rely only on my phone. I always print my paper boarding pass as well as download it on my phone. But what happened on Friday, it wouldn’t have mattered.
