Natural progression. It was fresh and new to them and they had a bunch of fun making videos, then they got tired of it and moved to the business side (see: wayy more money). There was def some magic about it back then, it's hard to find new hosts that are as genuinely into it as they were back in the day. Gary and Micah are good ones, and you can tell they're actually friends.

Not quite. These are commissioned by a company, in this case eBay. They didn't spend a dime on it probably, made money on the content and they're going to make money on selling it. The reason this is being sold, as well as the shop van, is because they don't have cult status. Shartkart and Shitcar are what made Hoonigan what it is today, this is just another project for them (aside from the Walker connection obviously), so there is much less attachment to it. The Donk is one of the cars that kind of bombed, which is why there was no rush in getting it running well.
