Yeah, it’s so weird. I grew up watching them every day. I’m now a third year college student and feel like a part of my childhood was a lie. I know that’s not the case, but I wish they were more real and upfront earlier on. I felt like shay tried to keep up this “personality.” Honestly, I think it was because of their religion. Shay didn’t want shame on his family. A Christian would own up to the fact that they’re a sinner and need help, a Mormon and a former missionary would try and look holy from the outside.
