For the confused - the game interweaves what seems to be 3 different stories (smuggler, assassin, photographer), in such a way that the segments of each can blend together. The driving segments are all three protagonists woven together, different seat contents for each. More can be discovered about the world and plot by exploring and trying different things, different dialogue options.

This game is actually pretty interesting so far, reminds me of the esoteric Deadly Premonition, but also has elements of a lot of other horror games like Fatal Frame, Silent Hill (like Dan said) and other Horror Steam games (like the driving one mentioned by Arin and also reminds me of the laundromat game, Bloodwash, they played last Ghouls Grumps) Came home to finish it and it was just soooo anti-climactic. Very interesting, but seems like there’s some parts missing in the construction

So: -town is rural and thus somehow that makes it spooky scary. -electrical company was making some crazy tapes/maybe human experiments, but got shut down. With a lot of its supplies being left to rot in the woods. -People started stumbling upon said supplies and having bad things happen to them. -Tapes become super valuable because of what they do. Attracting a group that wants the Assassin to smuggle a supply of them across the border -Random bird watcher is attacked by someone who was using the tapes. - assassin crashes and ventures into the woods likely looking help and stumbles upon the bird watcher. Is arrested. -Then the scene with the Security guard plays with the Assassin in jail for being mistaken for killing the bird watcher.

My guess is that there are two, maybe three versions of the main character- and it's a sequel to this other game about a dealer who hands out corruptive tapes. The reason why stuff keeps disappearing, and why we seem to be traveling with someone else....is because another alternate version of ourself is doing a similar job. While we deal in strange, reality warping tapes, our alternate self instead records things: taking pictures of birds. We're the shitty version of ourselves as a kind of drug mule, while the other version of us is a happy bird photographer. Because we looked at a tape (they're angry with us for a reason, they tell us not to watch the tapes because they'll know, so we must have watched a tape before) we segue between our two selves. The reason for why the tapes disappear, or the gun shows up, or both are gone is because we have briefly swapped into our other selves. However, whatever eldritch force we work for is using us, and likes us as the drug mule. The version of us that's a photographer is lured to a mansion and killed. We end up making our delivery, but also end up stumbling upon ourself- the realization at the end is that the female corpse is our alternate self. We hung up, because we realized we were about to have to explain to the police how we found our own corpse.

This really has such potential to be an amazing game but it feels it could use just a little more fleshing out, has some good lore and world building going for it. With a slightly more cohesive tie in plot, it could really excel... unless the point WAS the absolute "what the fuck" element of confusion. The tapes thing is really interesting, and what exactly was the deal with the "partner" that you couldn't see? Aliens, was that a thing? Or just pointless convo? Why did that lady want more tapes? Is it a snuff film thing like Dan and Arin said? It could really become popular with a slight revamp.

I had a dream that I was Arin's personal assistant and, in addition to keeping track of his schedule, it was my job to satisfy his cravings for glubbajubbas. Glubbajubbas are tiny, blue demon-like creatures that come in packs of 6 and you squeeze their goo directly into your mouth as a nice snack. The problem is, every time you consume a glubbajubba there is a chance you become possessed by the glubbajubba. It was my job to watch for signs of possession and hit Arin on the head hard enough to knock him out so that the glubbajubba would leave his system. Eventually there was an intervention with Dan, Suzy, and Allie who were all concerned about the large amount of concussions that Arin had received because of his obsession with glubbajubbas. It was very emotional.
