No body is playing him because they took away his spin which was his main Kombo starter/ender and keep away tool...he plays like L Kang in mk11 which is not what KL mains want

Good shit, bro. I'd love to play you in MK1 one of these days. And I'm so happy to say that I cracked the code with Reptile. He has so much more going for him than even I gave him credit for originally. I need a lot of practice to get to that level, but I genuinely believe a fully optimized Reptile is top 5 minimum and low-key busted. Real shit

Bruh the funny thing is right after we had that conversation about reptile being kinda bad and people not figuring him out yet that day like 5 minutes later I played the best reptile ever 😂. I honestly think everyone in this game when paired up with the right assist is busted. Reptile def not too 5 tho buddy cmon. I do know his game plan now tho and think he is slept on

@@NickyJ_58 Was that Reptile using Sub-Zero to get a guaranteed invisibility? I'm pretty sure my gameplan with Reptile is something you haven't seen before, but IDK. I wish I could see that set. Reptile has dirt and I mean solo dirt that's honestly BS if they know what they're doing. I stand by my opinion that he's top 5 if fully optimized. I just need to put in the work to show that

That whiff @1:05 ish, wasn't your fault. That was the P2 bug that's going on right now. In case you didn't know. P2 has a slightly smaller hitbox so combos that should work as P1 don't work as P2. They're patching it next week, but it's been a huge issue. Loved the video though. It's good to see people playing Kung Lao. It's been surprisingly hard to find fellow KL mains on YT XD

after seeing this, I wonder if scorpion is actually better than goro for lao? You get a side switch on wakeup reversal, and the combo extensions are kinda nice

Not at all bro. Scorpion gives you a few more combo routes but Goro gives you combo routes to, but it’s the fact he does that AND keeps you safe. I think kung Lao and goro are better assist for Lao.

@@NickyJ_58 Gotcha. Both make kung Lao super fun to play. If there’s one bad thing about playing Lao though, I think it’s that his d1 has terrible range. You can’t punish most blocked d1’s with a d1 with Lao

What i love about kung lao is his playstyle, I am aware of his flaws but at the same time he just a fun character to use, i use Kung lao kameo for good zoning and pressure, so i can anti-air but i always prefer dropping the combo, mainly because of the risk of not relying on aerial combos as much, But overall i love his character, I pray for a good skin, even a god skin perhaps 😂 Currently just make look like titan kung lao

Yup, DB 1 is a mod so you can catch people neutral ducking sometimes. If you’re talking about why I do it in combos sometimes it’s just cause of a input error 😂.

I'm doing pretty good with laos mix ups and block strings but some people punish my shimmy after my cameo with long buttons I need a new option for that

If you mean shimmy buy walking forward then back trying to bait a throw tech then just gets up in their face and use you 2 1 string. It’s an auto shimmy.

Try to hit your standing three high up. It doesn’t have to be at the maximum height cause the recovery off your back 2 three is almost instant and it allows you to input 121 pretty much immediately after that string finishes

Complete trash. I could vent about it for days bro. To keep it short. The startup isn’t that fast so you can get hit out if it and it’s super punishable on block. I have no idea why he even has it. I thought maybe it had extra hits if armor to actually give you a reason to use it over his other reversal but it’s the same. And unrelated but ima keep complaining. His anti airs are trash and now he can’t even use spin to anti air like he could in the other mk’s smh

@@NickyJ_58 damn thats crazy, i love using lao in 9,X and 11 and was just abt to pick him up. Safe armour launcher is godly but that spin needs some changes it seems. I think it would be great if it was a quick reversal like it was in X, and similar to lie mei's kick. Keep up the solid content bro

Give a go Don't worry about W/L ratio It just a number if just play heaps you will get there, I was also hesitated of using kung lao but for me he is a fun character to play, majority of the game is experimentation. Besides the more lost ratio the more matches, everyone has a ego for wins/lost so just have fun my friend

I think when paired up with the right kameo he’s an absolutely AMAZING character. But him on his own he has a few problems. Terrible range on his buttons, punishable on his strings and overheads, and no mix. But when you play him with a kameo that can either keep him safe or keep him safe and give him combos he’s easily top ten.
