Sunday I went to Le Rivage, tried a leek appetizer, the onion soup burger with fries, and had Mousse au Chocolat for dessert. All were excellent. I’m thinking Frenchie must have been from near Biarritz, since that has a long road called Le Beau Rivage that goes along the shore. The others in the party thought the food was excellent too.

Part of the charm of this show that I love so much is when Brian shows a video or clip that he finds super funny and entertaining but Frenchie just sits there unamused. The slight awkwardness is super funny.

The defeat in Frenchy's eyes when you stonewalled his "I don't have an Ordinary Sausage" line was like watching a fender bender happen. Also ABSOLUTELY check out Ordinary Sausage's non-sausage experiments. Especially his ones with steak. He has an insane superpower where no matter how insane the method of cooking is, he winds up getting his steaks finished at a perfect medium rare.

15:45 Funny thing is in chemistry we do something similar: when making an acid or base solution always add the acid or base to the water not the other way around. It is exothermic and releases a huge amount of heat so adding the water to the acid or base can boil over or even cause a steam explosion.

More info about the lucky cat and it's paws, just an FYI. Maneki-neko can be found with either the right or left paw raised (and sometimes both). The significance of the right and left raised paw differs with time and place.[6] A statue with the left paw raised is to get more customers, while the right paw raised is to get more money. Hence it is also said that the one with left paw is for business and the right is for home.

The Japanese fruit are expensive because they spend so much time and effort growing and inspecting them by hand. They are then packaged and sold as business gifts. In Japan its just a tradition to spend money on something 'perfect' and fleeting as a sign of appreciation and respect in business. The fruit really tend to taste no better than any other well ripened normal fruit. The origin of this practice was originally that when you travelled for business the guest would bring a regional symbol of their home city as a gift. The gift could not be something extremely useful as that was viewed as an insult (you buying something that someone needed was viewed as saying that the host somehow could not get it or afford it themselves and that you were imposing upon them or stating that you were somehow superior). Eventually fruit/food items just tended to be the universal standard item. But then the market adopted to impose the "most perfect" looking fruit. So for example with Strawberries each one will be inspected under magnification to ensure not a single seed was out of place, nor there be any blemish or wrinkle on the leaves, etc. That is what you are paying for...the perception of perfection. Many times Japanese business men don't even eat them, they put them on a table as a display of what all their visitors brought for a few days and then toss them out or give them to their staff to take home. It's almost a 'lowering' of your status if you bother to consume the gifts yourself.
