I'm with Frenchie, that Nick stuff went on like 90% too long. Nick was transparently performative the whole time and it was a chore to listen to people pretend he is interesting. The fake out was legitimately interesting, but again his speech was a self indulgent chore to get through. Frenchie, I feel your pain. I hope Brian doesn't torture you as much next time. Stay strong, brother 💪

I don't believe he was the villian here. People were cheering him on, donating so he would keep eating. He made money off the real villains that encouraged him to eat and get fat/sick. It shows how horrible humanity is these days. People were getting him to eat to his death but he is the villain here? I think everyone needs to take a hard look in the mirror today and ask yourselves wtf happened to you. He exposed us for who we really are

I've only ever known it as 招き猫 (lit. "beckoning cat"). I've never really thought about what the official term is in English. Also, on the topic of the video, I'd like to say that I've never actually looked at Nikocado before. I've seen him referenced in a few other things, but never cared about looking at what he actually did. Interesting that he actually was worth something other than being a fat KZbinr.

All I know is don’t know nothing. lol eta: En papillote but with bladder? 🧐🤣 Eta: shit, you’re right. My bad. Vessie is “bladder”. Technically correct is the best correct, I guess. It’s been a while in my defense.

Papa John’s actually proofs their dough over a few days. Small balls come in. They need to be left out to proof and grow for a long chunk of time (I don’t remember anymore), and are meant to be taken out at least an hour before use for it to warm toward room temp. But it gets too soft and gassy to make a pretty pizza in my experience.
@h3llo0cto
@h3llo0cto 17 сағат бұрын
Thanks for pointing this out. I managed a Papa Johns for a little while before the toxic culture was too much to handle. Dough delivery=day 1. Dough is good to use starting day 3 (ideally day 4) and questionable at day 7. After that it's thrown away. Newer dough can be "pushed" by pulling it out early before opening and resting it by the hot oven. Normally dough is pulled a little before it's planned to be used to get it to room temp. Proofing the dough too early can make it gooey and hard to work with. Baking cold dough is possible, but it may not cook as nicely as you'd like. Now this was several years ago and before I left, quality wasn't as much of a priority anymore. Can't speak to other places, but most chains take even less care with their dough than PJ's does, or used to. There are grocery store frozen pizzas that are better, imo.

I made a mediocre shepards pie the other day. It was decently tasty, but would’ve been better if I had a star tip piping bag to make the mashed potatoes fancier!! And of if I had beef broth instead of chicken broth. Don’t know what I had in the pantry and failed there.

I watch three competitive eaters regularly. What little I know about their personal lives is that between the big eating challenges they all do a combination of fasting (seriously, eating 10,000 calories at one time? That is nearly a week of food!) is that they do some sort of minimal caloric intake and fasting combined with insane workouts. For example, "Erik the Electric" runs marathons, does super triathlons, and works out daily. "Beard Meets Food" does a lot of workouts and then in between eats mostly yogurt and fruits and veg. That is why they are skinny. Is it healthy? I'm no dietitian, but I'm going to go with no.
