Fun fact, since you commented on the video appearance - they’re 100% indie, they record & produce all their own music & videos. This one was literal guerrilla filming, dodging guards on a tea plantation, Raul (the rap guy) was attacked by leeches during the water shoot, there’s tons of stories

I saw them live last month in Zürich. Man...what a performance...and they are so charismatic and a whooole lot of humor these guys have. One of the best concerts I've seen in my live. And believe me....I've been on some the past 20 years 😂

Got incredibly lucky and saw they did a 200 capacity club in a little town on a Wednesday night last week so had to get tickets. Stood front row, inches from Karan's guitar and fistbumped them all etc, fucking epic live and on album

Bloodywood has alot of song that are about mental health and social commentary. Definately recommend watching Jee Veerey and Defiant, also Machi bhasad is a banger and highlights how their sound is very much influenced by RATM as you said.

Got the chance to see them live in the UK last week. I echo everyone’s comments about how good they are live- excellent performances, energy, ability to engage with the audience. One of the best live acts I have seen in over 4 decades of concert going.

So, Aaj was my introduction to Bloodywood, and it’s still my favorite of theirs. There’s something so powerful in how the music combines itself to both be natural and also a force of nature. :D It was a hell of a ride with my synesthesia, too.

I saw them live in Bangalore, India. Amazing performance. And they are super cool dudes without any attitude. I have been following them since their beginnings when they used to do comedic covers of metal songs with an Indian twist. Fantastic to see how far they have come.

New to the channel, dunno if you react to more than metal & hip hop, but if so definitely give her a listen. Mostly covers from various genres, but Nageena is fantastic and an original 👍 Also a collab with a couple other pipers covering Shipping Up To Boston & Enter Sandman is pretty f'n great. Every single bit of the instrumentation was phenomenal, Archy J. was phenomenal with her voice (by the way, Archy J is an amazing beast when she's rocking her bagpipes!!!! See the Snake Charmer, the Indian folk metal, metal-metal bag-piper!!!!), as were both of the vocalists! I don't have everyone's names down YET, but I will! Bloodywood rocks!!

Another good metal band [although not folk metal] from Africa is Botswanan band Skinflint) Cemican- Mexico Manntra- Croatia Rune- Srbija Dubioza Kolektiv- Bosnia and Hertzegovina (NOTE: they are called a band with no genre because they blend EVERYTHING ... just compare their songs "No escape" and "space song") Arkona-Russia Percival Shatenbach- Poland ( Percival is kind of a panslavic since they covered folk songs from all 3 subgroups of Slavic peoples) Al Namrood- Saudi arabia Hassak- Kazakhstan (technically an ethno band but their song "Amanat" would not be out of place on a metal concert) Bloodywood-India Nini music - Taiwn MicacleOfSound- Ireland (songs like "Grainn Mahoil", "Sirona" and "Tale of Cu Chullain") NOTE: if anyone knows a band from South America please do let me know I want to have a band from each continent to recommend
