There are so many parts on that, wheels, rims, tires probably still good, breaks shocks a whole top end, rear shock, swing arm is probably good, so many internal motor components, tripe trees, maybe a bottom end there is so much more you can get out of that bike, a rebuild is even possible bro, please just get it towed out and take it back home

Great to see you walk away, I have riding buddies that had almost identical accidents, some minor injuries, some months/years of recovery. At the end of the day it's just a bike. In Europe (in the Netherlands for sure) insurance only pays the bikes value minus the wreck value. In this case you could easily loose €3000. And since you documented exactly what was left of the bike, this is not to hard to calculate. Plus you as the owner are responsable for salvaging the wreck out of nature. If a ranger (or European version of that) finds it and have the authorities salvage it you'll be presented the bill. And probably a fine for environmental damage. I've seen this practice before, mostly in deserted areas, but I don't understand how you can leave a corpse like that polluting the dessert and think it will clean up itself.

At 0:13 was that gravel? The way the rear end went out, looks like what would happen if you hit gravel or sand? The rear went out all of a sudden, no warning. If it was gravel or sand, there was nothing you could have done, no matter what street bike you were on. Glad you are safe.

The meter is only $1200. They do have different part numbers but whats weird is you can switch it by holding diwn select and reset then turn the key on and keep holding the buttons. This is how you enter diagnostic mode. But the first selection you can change it over to the ohlins settings. I tried it on mine. When i turn the key on it flashes the ohlins splash screen.

Id make an entire series of recovery and rebuild. It can be done and youd probably save several several thousands over getting another. Buy it back from insurance and get a clean title R1 frame from someone. Boom, done

Would've thought more of that wreck was salvageable but I suppose the more important question is if it's worth pulling back out, can't imagine it's cheap and if insurance has already paid you out what would be the point. Major components of the drivetrain could be worth looking at but where that bike is at, it wouldn't surprise me if the casings are cracked and every inch of that bike is bent and twisted :C

You should have rent a tow truck with a winch to pull up the bike… you can salvage the rims, frame, engine, forks.. pretty much the whole bike and make it a trackbike.
