Sick work guys! I honestly think what sold it in the original is the "auto exposure" they use when panning between the stairs and the tracks. Really makes it feel like it was shot on mobile the way the aperture changes based on the lighting conditions. Super subtle but very clever.

That's cool. One of the most important factors of making something look photorealistic is the lighting, not sure how you set that up? Did you use lighting of the default game level?

The only thing I'd change about the final render is make fake auto-exposure, since the render looks like it's recorded on a phone. Filming the brighter parts lowers exposure and filming the stairs for example rises the exposure.
@CinecomCrew2 жыл бұрын
100% agree! We had to use the VP camera actor. For some reason the auto exposure didn't worked. With the normal camera actor it did worked.

no device can handle a game if this was a whole city the rtx 3090 won't even be able to run it at 20 fps
@Tahycoon2 жыл бұрын
@@hodayfa000h Exactly, but with optimization, and better hardware, we can achieve it on 2 years. For the optimization part, instead of focusing too much on the resolution and upscaling (the upscaling here is too excessive that lower scaling will produce the same results on the average gamer screen resolution), and using Lumin (the new lighting system in UE5 which was not used here), and the new UE5 future that produce "chunks" of the surrounding world and gradually decreasing the quality of further objects (just like Minecraft chunk processor system, but more advanced), things can get better quickly. We of course need to wait longer for the hardware part.
@Vartazian3602 жыл бұрын
I feel like the most important part is the lighting which was entirely skipped. Other than that great video. Kinda like Draw the circle, then cut in 4 quarters, then draw 2 more circles, next now you see we have a perfectly drawn piece of art :) Nah just giving you a hard time. the end result was quite close to the original video. Awesome work for 6 days.

Using a phone to walk through virtual environment could probably be made into immersive VR experience.. just need to add precise motion capture.. this way they could actually make virtual shops, as long as environments are completely photo-realistic.. Also I think augmented reality is quite unutilized.. I guess for now we simply can't create glasses that could hold computing power & batteries powerful enough to run multiple projections & even avatars, but as light as regular glasses.. Perhaps in the next 20 years we will have reality bending VR & AR..
@spacelabgamer2 жыл бұрын
As streaming gets more popular we won't need to have all of the internals in the glasses themselves, just a really good wifi chip and a power efficient display and we can just stream the VR experience
@san0saky2 жыл бұрын
That's true.. I have an idea for Augmented Reality project for kids.. It's something along the lines of Pokemon Go, only instead of having to look through phone to see a Pokemon augmented into our reality, I would want same effect only through glasses.. it would make a world of difference if you could see various avatars in our real world without having to look through the phone.. If these kind of glasses could be created, the possibilities are endless.. for example, for kids it could be another game, where they could see dragons, fairies, etc.. characters that would interact with them & give various challenges.. challenges that if completed would gain rewards, like AR fireworks, or getting a Virtual Pet, etc.. For adults possibilities are also extensive, even outside gaming.. for example army could use AR glasses for combat training in real world, where they would fight virtual enemy combatants in various scenarios.. also, wearing AR glasses could help with GPS navigation, help with foreign language signs (again, all this is already available on regular smartphones), show store goods & best deals without entering store, teach various specialists, etc.. There are simply too many examples of possible applications, entertainment & work related.. as far as entertainment, imagine walking through real-life "haunted house", or being able to live-out a day from your favorite movie with your favorite character.. As nice as that sounds, I think we are still some ways off as far as tech goes.. I mean making comfortable glasses that would be able to augment photo-realistic objects & people (even if through streaming it from cloud), have sensors that would detect your precise movement, your interactions with augmented environment & people, and making those augmented assets respond realistically to your interactions.. So for now we can only wait.. but something along the lines of Pokemon Go could be integrated into glasses-format.. hell, if I had enough capital I would try it myself 🙂

I haven't started diving into UE5 yet, still working with UE4, but appreciate those paving the way for noobs like myself. Also kinda random but the thumbnail for this video really needs some love. Weird pixel art version is not very representative of what we got going on here haha.
@NullConflict2 жыл бұрын
The red arrow and pixelated image is a clickbait tactic. The obscured image piques curiosity instead of "spoiling the ending" before you even watch the video. Similar to how many video titles pose a question which you expect to be answered if you click and watch.
